Room for a small one ? Nice little kit , bit of a trainer for me to explore rigging betters ,esp as Bobs Buckles has closed 😳 This is home made eyelets and brass tube , the Inifini 0.135mm thread passed through the tubing . The other option at 1/48 was to dispense with the eyelets altogether and just have the buckle bit . hmmm And completely over weathered it .....got carried away . 🫡 ] Laters PW -
I've had this sat under the bed for a few moths since picking it up second hand and un started for a nice price back in Autumn . I've done Revells 1/72 S-boot , that was a nice build , I did their 1/144 U-Boat too, and that was nice if small. This thing is 3 feet long , not wildly detailed , but a great canvass to make it look like it's on it's 10 patrol in the North Atlantic. The kit has the feel of being pantographed up from a smaller scale , where the parts count are the same and everything feels a bit "clunky" . Odd as this is not the case ; the 1/144 came out in 2006 after this 2003 release . There are no accessories crew torpedoes etc , no PE ,no real options for build other than as a monolithic chunk. I've been kicking around what to do with this , there was a diorama of a sinking u-boat called "Drowning Wolf" by a guy called Scott Withers that took my fancy , or could go full length and have it ploughing through the swell . I'll build it and then decide. First drop is drilling .....clearing out all through the moulded holes , a nice simple job for a Sunday afternoon..

What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)

Your workbench has all the look of a scale multidimenionsal scrap yard . Millennium Falcon , F18 and Spitfires just stacked up , a dinosaur carcass just lying around . Endless "drums" of waste stack up high ..... 'We need spares" said Han ..."I know just the place", said Luke, "in a scrap yard far far way on the planet Canadan ." -
Cheers peep , I'll see how much they want for postage, ordered canopy is 15EUR so we will see . Recently for me Dave Parkins wanted more for postage of some 1/48 resin figures than the efigures themselves ..for a journey of 80 miles , so didn't bother . Let hope HpH are silly too .

That book (er all three of them now ) is a complete rabbit hole. 😄 -
I remember building that Sabre Dog and thinking it was way cool colour scheme. It was still new ish then ( 1975 according to Scalemates) For my sins....... I've gone a bit Kriegsmarine this January ....I know this got kinda mixed reviews over the years esp the canopy, but finding any replacements seem a bit like the U Boat , most have ceased production . Any specific advice appreciated .
