Mr Potato Head on the right looks a bit like Till Lindemann Lead singer of Rammstein for those who don't know. -

Lovely work Ron. Always a tense moment when you start cutting and grinding away on tasks like this. -

Super work with the filler. How quickly does that P38 filler cure? -

Thanks Carl. I've certainly used plenty of Kabuki tape and kitchen towel! -

Just a quick update, will post better pictures later. Bottom colours on. A few touch ups required but definite progress. Think I'm going to gloss coat all this before I do the canards and nose just to try and mitigate against cock ups. -
Awesome work Rich. Looks stunning with the missile loaded.

Impressive work again Tom. Those gasp look like crevasses! Hopefully everything will line up well after filling and sanding. -
Some seriously cool rides there Ernie. Looks like a great day.

Nice start Martin but gotta disagree as I think the MkXVI is the coolest looking Spitfire. It's the only Tamiya one I've built. -

Astonishing work Craig, especially on the skinning. Just amazing to even go to the trouble of pushing the areas around the rivets back down to get the results you have.- 167 replies

Really nice masking work Kai. Glad there wasn't too much touching up to do. Nice thinking with the circular masks to ensure a uniform background under the decals.- 719 replies

Italari 1/12 Renault RE20 Turbo
GusMac replied to Kpnuts's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
My favourite era of F1 with those turbo powered ground effect cars. Remember watching Arnoux and Jabouille driving these, so cool. Looks like a nice kit. -
Great start Peter and glad to hear you're feeling better. I've watched a couple of assembly videos of this online and the fit looks astonishing. Pity about the lack of belts though, especially for the cost as you say. 😒

Have a good one Martin. 🍺

Nice Kai. That RC yellow is the same one I've used on mine and it's a really nice tone with just enough of a hint of gold in it.- 719 replies

Atlas Cheetah E Scaleworx Conversion
GusMac replied to GusMac's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Thanks fellas. Yes, 'gaudy' might be the word for it Rob, but it certainly stands out. Glad you like it Hubert as your aversion to camouflage was part of the inspiration for trying this. -
Atlas Cheetah E Scaleworx Conversion
GusMac replied to GusMac's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Well, upper surface masking is off .... A few touch-ups needed where the masking hasn't been perfect and a couple of slight asymmetries between the sides but I'm pretty happy with how it's come out so far. I'll do the repairs over the next couple of days and hopefully get started on the underside at the weekend.- 117 replies

Similar Carl. My wife doesn't care how many I have (not many) as it keeps me out of her hair but the display cabinet I got for my 50th was a big hint to keep them in a nice dust free space!

Atlas Cheetah E Scaleworx Conversion
GusMac replied to GusMac's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Thanks fellas. The Tamiya flexible tape is probably more useful than the Kabuki for getting the curves but I've certainly used plenty of both! -

Quick progress update Black on and all masking done ready for the white. Masking around the base of the refuelling probe was a complete pain but I've got it about as accurate as I can manage. Going to make sure and burnish all the edges down again before I spray the white as leakage might well be an issue with all the curves involved. -

Really nice engineering there Tom. Looks suitably robust and really gives a sense of scale to this beast.
