  1. I love this idea. Perfect for its function. Ikea does tanks!
  2. Very sad to hear that. Far too young.
  3. Happy New Year to all. Hope ye survived Hogmanay with livers intact!
  4. Hi Phil, I've used Ammo acrylics for my last few builds and I can't say I've had any problems with clogging with the Evolution. I do tend to use them pretty thin as I've used black-basing with all of them. Only full strip down I've had to do was after trying to airbrush Tamiya titanium gold which I found thins like crap and left all the pigment in the bottom!
  5. Hi Phil The Harder and Steenbeck Evolution 2 in 1 is also a good buy but I'm not sure how it compares price wise with the Ultra. You do occasionally see good deals on them on eBay - I got mine from a shop specialising in nail products!
  6. I hope they get the D out soon as I was planning on holding out for the 2 seater but I'm not sure I'll make it if they take too long.
  7. I'll echo what Danny said as thanks to Ernie I will now also have my first WNW kit, the Ship's Camel. Slight trepidation about the rigging but nothing ventured, etc
  8. Thanks guys. It was a fun build and I know the kit has its flaws but it looks close enough for me.
  9. Hope you had a good one Gaz.
  10. Hi Ernie I also offered a set of Sky's decals F-4 Kurnass. These can be entered as a separate prize.
  11. That is nice for an OOB cockpit. I've prevaricated often about trying a helo and the Hind or Fly Wessex has often crossed my mind but size is the sticking point. However this is definitely convincing me to try dipping a toe in...
  12. Yeah, reviews seem generally positive but the intake trunks seems to be the main thing. Although I've seen it pointed out that with the small intakes and large shock cones there isn't much chance of seeing much in there anyway.
  13. The Airfix website can be used to request spare parts but they tend to be quite slow and expensive (about £3-4 per part). You do also occasionally find people selling split kits on eBay.
  14. Have a great festive season Mike.
  15. Looking very good Cees. Would be impressive in 32nd scale but even more so in 1/48th.
  16. Merry Christmas to all. Have a good and safe one. Nollaig Chridheil as the gaels say.
  17. Yep, Merry Christmas to you too Danny and to everyone else who hangs out here.
  18. Looks great Dale. Love the seat cushions.
  19. You have the second highest per capita carbon emissions in the world so I hardly think your government is pandering to the green lobby, try the big coal lobby.
  20. Hi Ernie Feel free to post it on Facebook as I'll never see it! I'm afraid I've never got into the whole (anti)social media thing despite my wife and kids using it all the time to keep in touch when they're away at Uni. Thanks for compliments as well, means a lot when it comes from people who's skills you admire, like many on here. My main take away from this is not to panic if things look 'odd' at stages of the build. I did a lot of fading with white and buff oils to make the green look sun bleached but it all 'disappeared' when I applied the gloss coat. I was sorely tempted to redo it but thankfully didn't 'cos when I applied the flat coat at the end it all reappeared.

    VF-43 A-4

Looks great. Always think the A4 looks a bit 'weird' as a two seater. If you're looking for a great jet kit then as 1to1 says you can't beat Tamiya for a pleasant build. Their F16s are nice to build and great looking.
