  1. Some great colour reference photos there. Nice effect with the putty on the tank.
  2. Weird experience last night!?! I have a Pinterest account which I rarely use but which I do use to store reference photos for builds. I went on last night and one of the recommendations as I'd been looking at Greek aircraft was a photo of my own build lifted from this site! Very disconcerting!!! The interweb can be a very odd place.
  3. Stunning work on something so fragile Rick. Hope you have somewhere safe to display it.
  4. Got these as part of my Christmas from the kids and it got me thinking in a couple of ways. I always try to learn a new technique with every build and I've also been contemplating what Hubert, Ernie and others have been saying about only building things with camouflage. Also, some really inspiring builds that Micha (elmarriachi) posted on here about a year ago. SO...... I got this and my CHET build is going to take a sharp left turn. Instead of a Greek military one carrying the Meng AMX-30 it's going to be a beaten up, rusty civilianised one carrying a nice dusty, dirty digger! Best thing is it's all out of my head so I can't pressurise myself on getting it to exactly match a particular reference or picture. I'm hoping to have some fun with it anyway.
  5. Iconic and in some ways it still out performs it's successors. However, it's had it's day now. Always felt it looked like the bastard offspring of a Starfighter and an EE Lightning!
  6. That's a hoot Jeff. Good to see Dusty Hill from ZZ Top is still working too!!
  7. The quality of all the painting is astounding but the figures are just the best I have ever seen.
  8. Lovely work Danny. It certainly looks a darn sight better than the Trumpeter 1/32 scale 21.
  9. I love this idea. Perfect for its function. Ikea does tanks!
  10. Very sad to hear that. Far too young.
  11. Happy New Year to all. Hope ye survived Hogmanay with livers intact!
  12. Hi Phil, I've used Ammo acrylics for my last few builds and I can't say I've had any problems with clogging with the Evolution. I do tend to use them pretty thin as I've used black-basing with all of them. Only full strip down I've had to do was after trying to airbrush Tamiya titanium gold which I found thins like crap and left all the pigment in the bottom!
  13. Hi Phil The Harder and Steenbeck Evolution 2 in 1 is also a good buy but I'm not sure how it compares price wise with the Ultra. You do occasionally see good deals on them on eBay - I got mine from a shop specialising in nail products!
  14. I hope they get the D out soon as I was planning on holding out for the 2 seater but I'm not sure I'll make it if they take too long.
  15. I'll echo what Danny said as thanks to Ernie I will now also have my first WNW kit, the Ship's Camel. Slight trepidation about the rigging but nothing ventured, etc
  16. Thanks guys. It was a fun build and I know the kit has its flaws but it looks close enough for me.
  17. Hope you had a good one Gaz.
  18. Hi Ernie I also offered a set of Sky's decals F-4 Kurnass. These can be entered as a separate prize.
  19. That is nice for an OOB cockpit. I've prevaricated often about trying a helo and the Hind or Fly Wessex has often crossed my mind but size is the sticking point. However this is definitely convincing me to try dipping a toe in...
  20. Yeah, reviews seem generally positive but the intake trunks seems to be the main thing. Although I've seen it pointed out that with the small intakes and large shock cones there isn't much chance of seeing much in there anyway.
  21. The Airfix website can be used to request spare parts but they tend to be quite slow and expensive (about £3-4 per part). You do also occasionally find people selling split kits on eBay.
