Yet another Tamiya Corsair Birdcage 1/32
JeroenPeters replied to spliffsecond's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Hi Free! I would say my calling-out the Lurkers has been a succes! What a great start of that Corsair engine... You must have inherited some of your grandfather's skills... Also glad to see another Belgian builders up here. The dutch were almost beginning to take up the majority and that's never a good thing Good to have you here! Cheers, Jeroen -

Bf109 Eduard Instrument Panel
JeroenPeters replied to JeroenPeters's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
I'm deaf not waisting any time on this one. Shot some shades of RLM66. Masked the Revi Glass. Roughed up the leather cushion and base coated it light beige. Then some hairspray, followed by dark leather. etc... You know the drill. -
The P-2 usually had the fish-tail exhausts, but this particular scheme may have had the early ones'. At least pastor John from Aims seems to think so. He also made decals for the 1G+EK. He may have been wrong, but I haven't been able to proof otherwise. But: sharply spotted Arnold!

I needed a small break from the He111. That monster has been hogging my bench for too long. Picked up this build that was a gift from Arrow Wolf models. The Revi 12 gunsight is ready for it's first paint layer and so are the panels. This should get things moving on my desk! It should turn out a little bit like this: http://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/518-14-messerschmitt-bf-109e-instrument-panel/

I love the Gannet. Cool build and refreshing scheme!

Jaw-dropping! As a matter of fact i got this magazine today and all I can say is: your friend is one hell of a lucky guy to have friends like you!! -

Well that's a valid point! Holiday season x busy work schedule = zero bench time. This topic is mainly aimed at the hundreds of members that (as far as i can see) are a member, visit regularly and for some reason refrain from posting and trying to motivate them to do so. -

Wow Ed! My topic was worth posting just by seeing your builds alone! -
Wow! Nice. One small thing: the landing light glass seems to be missing.. Right?

Revell 1/32 He-162 "Salamander"
JeroenPeters replied to efrick's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
And he scores with another clean build! I hear you on the Aires pit. Their detail is amazing, the resin looks like it needs minimal cleanup, but you often need to either fill a huge gap or sand away half of your model to get a decent fit... You nailed it. -
Nice! Clean build and lovely camo.

Sweet! Really wish that gun would be scaled up to 32nd scale. This looks like a cool kit...
-
Maybe you can share some of the pics you took inside the fuselage!

Hi Arnold, Thnx! I am indeed doing a P. Not the P-1 but the P-2 (which had a revised radio lay-out). For this I will be using the Montex masks (instead of the rather thick Revell decals).

Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot
JeroenPeters replied to BradG's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
That looks superb! Is this 1/16th scale? Tamiya? Looks like Adolf Galland without the mustache! -
Hi Steve, if you scan the decals at 600 or even 900 dpi you should be able to blow them up a bit, but I don't think blowing them up to 1/18 will do them any good. Rough edges, register misalignment issues, etc will come into play. I suggest you re-draw them in let's say: Adobe Illustrator if you can. Or even Microsoft Word of Powerpoint.

Yes and no. It is true that there is not a lot of activity on in the modeling discussion and work in progress at the moment (perhaps due to holidays etc) but we DO have a lot of viewers, visitors and a steady new member count. Hence this topic. -
Hello to all LSM-Lurkers! Recently i had a conversation with an LSM member who I had never met. Nevertheless he told me he tuned into LSM every morning, hoping to see some good updates in the 'Work-in-progress' section. I then asked him why he didn't post some of his own work. His answer was in line with the often heard reason's I hear: • I haven't had bench-time in a year (or so) • My skills aren't up-to-par with the builds I see on this forum • What have I got to offer? • Posting pics is a hassle • or I already post my own work somewhere else. Perhaps every reason above is a good reason on itself, but I know I would LOVE to see more lurkers post their builds, opinions, questions, finished work, research, etc... So: if you are a member, dive in! We've all started modeling at some point, and we're also here to help! Cheers!! Jeroen

Slowly working my way around the big legs. Added some placards and 'Nicht Betreten' decals. Adding pigments and scratches.

You've done a bang job on blending that resin in! I've tried my hands on a couple of Renaissance models sets and know they are not a walk in the park.- 14 replies
