Not sure either but in the pic Martin posted, if I'm looking at the correct piece, seem to be two small electrical junction boxes. If a cover goes over them, the box would seem to be more of a rectangle then a square.

Harvey , you show us what you've done without a picture of the original piece that you're trying to replicate. Then you're asking if it's big or small, where is a logic to that? Then, no matter what you've made is good enough, because nobody knows the look of the original.

I'm just thinking scale. You know too big or small considering everything around it. There are picks with shelves, seats, control boxes of various sizes

Scale is given 1/32.  Nobody knows what size your "box' suppose to be, because there is no picture to compare it with !   in another words , show us what you are basing your box on
