Peterpools
Kotare Spitfire Check out their website: Kotare Models | High Quality Scale Model Kitsets (kotare-models.com) The instructions are posted, look very similar to ZM's style and the kit details look amazing. MSRP: $109 Can't wait to buy mine and hit the bench running. 3

Peterpools
Thanks Martin as I had no idea meng was introducing the F4-G. I did a quick Google search and couldn't find any reviews.

More to the point … which one will be the most accurate and involve the builder more (in a good “this is fun” way, not a “F%#£!! piece of S$&@!! Way” ??) I haven’t had a lot to do with Meng kits … but I can say that I selected a Takom 1/35 Panther Ausf.D over theirs because it was bettter bang for buck. Rog Rog I built meng 1/24 GT40 and the detail was very good as well as the fit. Of all the GT40's out there, the meng offering seems to be the class of the field. As far as the F4G's go, need to read some reviews and see what's what.

To me, the artwork is more reminiscent of a Hasegawa kit but maybe their artist is doing work for other companies now. Carl

Rog I've built both the Meng and Takom Jagdpanthers and found them both to be nice builds. The Meng one is in camo. The biggest difference was the Takom had the zimmerit moulded onto it and I had to make it for the Meng kit. I suspect that the Meng F4G will have less internal detail and therefore be a more straightforward build. 3
Peterpools
Carl Nice looking Jagdpanthers. When I first saw the box art in, I thought it was a 1/48 Hasegawa kit and then after reading Martin's post, I realized it was the Meng kit. Can't see why Meng would want to jump into the 1/48 F4 market as there are already a number of big players and a nice range of kits; Tamiya, ZM, Academy and Hasegawa. At this point, just wondering what Meng's offering would be different then the selection. 2

BlrwestSiR
Jeff, how is the Academy/MRC OH-58 kit? I don't know enough about them but would it be an easier starting point to convert to a civilian version?

Carl, that would be a huge conversion, basically a different air frame, and everything from the top of the cabin to the top of the mast would have to be scratch built, although it looks similar to a 206, it is a different beast all together.... it's just the 206 needs a little love............ 1
BlrwestSiR
Thanks Jeff. Shows you how much I know about these birds. I did build the old 1/72(?) Monogram SnapTite kit and that's the closest I've gotten to one.

Peterpools
Phil I'm waiting for the same as all I've seen are CAD drawings which do look rather good. The kit is due for release in early October - as always, we wait and see.
BlrwestSiR
Lucky Models has the kit up for preorder at $52.99. Squadron does too but they're asking $100 with free shipping. Since it's supposed to come out next month it shouldn't be long before some sprue shots start showing up.
