Question is, which will be cheaper. This or the ZM one?

More to the point … which one will be the most accurate and involve the builder more (in a good “this is fun” way, not a “F%#£!! piece of S$&@!! Way” ??)

I haven’t had a lot to do with Meng kits … but I can say that I selected a Takom 1/35 Panther Ausf.D over theirs because it was bettter bang for buck.

I built meng 1/24 GT40 and the detail was very good as well as the fit. Of all the GT40's out there, the meng offering seems to be the class of the field.

As far as the F4G's go, need to read some reviews and see what's what.

Thanks Martin as I had no idea meng was introducing the F4-G.  I did a quick Google search and couldn't find any reviews.

So far the kit is unconfirmed. The box art Martin posted was on Facebook but that's it.

To me, the artwork is more reminiscent of a Hasegawa kit but maybe their artist is doing work for other companies now.

I've built both the Meng and Takom Jagdpanthers and found them both to be nice builds.

The Meng one is in camo. The biggest difference was the Takom had the zimmerit moulded onto it and I had to make it for the Meng kit.

I suspect that the Meng F4G will have less internal detail and therefore be a more straightforward build.

Nice looking  Jagdpanthers. When I first saw the box art in, I thought it was a 1/48 Hasegawa kit and then after reading Martin's post, I realized it was the Meng kit. Can't see why Meng would want to jump into the 1/48 F4 market as there are already a number of big players and a nice range of kits; Tamiya, ZM, Academy and Hasegawa. At this point, just wondering what Meng's offering would be different then the selection.

This is cool, BUT we STILL NEED a new tool, Bell 206, NO MATTER what scale, one of the most prolific helicopters ever built and the icon of Bell helicopters light machines....... with the opportunity to build many, many options, civil or military, Police, fire, ambulances, general duty machines...... wonder why we don't have just one?

Hey Mark, I have this kit and it is kind of a garbage kit, takes a huge amount of work to make it look like anything at all, the nose is grossly  concave rather than convex, windshield is wrong, as it the center support is far too wide, the skid gear support is not correct, far too thick, and the skid supports are more prototype or somewhat rare as they are fared over aerodynamically, which require rework or replacement to make anything reminiscent of the normal operational aircraft we see regularly .... it's 'ok', but in today's world with the fabulous kits being put out by nearly everyone, it is time... and I really HATE being so critical, but this is really now more of a collector's item in my thoughts.... at least that is where mine is for now.... one can hope and dream.... it sure would be great to have an accurate 206, imagine the possibilities........ just my humble opinion......

Jeff, how is the Academy/MRC OH-58 kit? I don't know enough about them but would it be an easier starting point to convert to a civilian version?

Carl, that would be a huge conversion, basically a different air frame, and everything from the top of the cabin to the top of the mast would have to be scratch built, although it looks similar to a 206, it is a different beast all together....  it's just the 206 needs a little love............
