Market Research - your top 'wanted' kits in 1/32 & larger please!

Hi - I know it's been done to death, but this is serious research for a model company.

Could you let me know your top 'wants' in 1/32 or larger - bearing in mind that since this was last done, several have been released or are forthcoming.  I don't have time to trawl through hundreds of threads looking for what's already been said...

It doesn't matter if it's really obscure.

What I really need to know (and bearing in mind that many of you are a lot older than me (36)) are the subjects that modellers have been waiting years for.

Do you think your choices are commercially viable / potentially profitable and why?

I will leave this thread up for a couple of weeks, and also post a similar one on other sites, then I will collate all the data and fire it off to the relevant person for discussion

Thanks very much in advance!

A mainstream 1/32 Hawker Hurricane range !

A new1/32 Beaufighter series nightfighter/TFX etc

Macchi fighter family in 1/32

De Havilland Vampire/Venom family 1/32

Phantom Family 1/32

I think the Messerschmitt and Focke Wulf stuff has been done to death, special hobby/ MPM etc do some of the more obscure French etc subjects which probably wouldn't sell well enough to warrant a mainstream manufacturer doing them.

Westland Whirlwind (no news about Special Hobby progress for ages)

Martin Baker MB5

Handley Page Hampden (well it's a twin)

CA 15

To name just a few

An F2H-2 Banshee. I don't care if Paul Fisher produces it and charges $500 for it. My mom is paying for Sienna's (my 'woman child") college anyway.

You don't say if it's a mainstream high pressure IM company or a low volume (Special Hobby for eg) type outfit... That has a bearing as some are looking for mainstream to replace what is available as limited run stuff.

Anyway, stuff that would sell in 1/32:

Harriers - Trumpy haven't touched all the 'classic' versions - not even a sea harrier - still stuck with Revell's offering.

Vampire, Venom series

A good OOB EE Lightning

Folland Gnat

Fouga Magister

FIAT G-91

SAAB Tunnan

Westland Wasp/Scout

Gazelle (helo)

Bf 108B

Dornier Alpha Jet

Dassault Ouragan

Dassault Mystere

Dassault( Super) Étendard

Bolton-Paul Defiant

I think this stuff would sell well because, as George says, there's a strong sense of nostalgia attached to a lot of these aircraft - they're the sort s of kits I made when entering the hobby in the last year of the 60s and into the 70s. They are old Airfix and Matchbox kits - revamped with extra details and larger size to cater for our greater pocket money and dwindling eyesight...

In fact I think looking at the back catalogue of what Airfix, Frog and Matchbox produced in the late 60s and into the 70s would provide a rich seam of subject matter...

Just my thoughts..

Hey ho - I hate to be predictable but a British Phantom, either FG.1 or FGR.2, would plug a large hole in my 'bucket list'!!

What else?

Well it wouldn't be a hardship to see:-

Hunter two seater

Late model Beaufighter

Folland Gnat

That'll do for the moment.

Is there a Santa Claus??

I'd love to see some more options from other WWII participants, such as Italian and Russian. Some Macchis and Yaks, for example.

I'll second that. And, of course, a Do-17Z that a number of us keep prattling on about would be a hit (and, by "a number of us", I mean myself included :-) )

I'll limit my inputs to kits that I think might actually be financially viable, I realize that a couple of these are available in resin but resin kits have a tendency to be overly pricey.

I know that two of these have been kitted in limited resin recently, but I'm not meant to actually touch the stuff. Also would be very interested in more "build-friendly" versions of the Macchi 200/202/205 series which would share many common sprues between these variants, should that be a consideration.
