Fw-190 A-8/ R-2 "Sturmbock" Revell 1:32

Recommended Posts

Dear community, I would like to share with you the results of the FW-190 A-8 R-2 from Revell in 32nd scale. The pilot Wilhelm Moritz commander of the IV assault group JG 3 "Udet" flew this machine in June 1944.

Revell made a good model but one must be very careful when building, especially the engine bonnet is quite a problem if done closed. I used the "Big Ed" in the build. , metal barrels, "Res Kit" chassis. The other modifications were made to the cockpit, recess, landing gear struts, tank, pylon and model airframe. Many things done, the engine was a separate exhibit, then conscientiously hid it.))))) I riveted the model and it brightens up the look.  Actually in the section "In hand" it can be seen. And all as usual primer, metallic, paint, highlighting rivets, vizering, varnish, oil, fuel leakage and exhaust. In the end I got the result which I am sharing with you. Enjoy the ride!

Very nice and convincing finish. The riveting enhances the look especially on the black cowling. I also like the slight shine in the black cowling, which gives it a more 'metallic' appearance.

Cheers Rob

DocRob thank you!

That Revell kit came out beautifully with your work.  Such an interesting subject, and you really did a nice job with it.  How did you find the Big Ed kit and how much of it did you use?  Did you find it worth it in the end?

Great photographs!

Chris

Chris thanks for the feedback! The set is really good, but of course there are downsides.)))  Big Ed doesn't need to buy it completely. I took in parts and only what I needed as part of the work on this model.
