The differentiation between the grey and white isn't too clear in the pictures but it looks pretty good to my eye in natural light.

Got the next two weeks off, away the first week, but hoping to get some bench time the second week, especially as the long-range weather forecast looks fairly iffy.

Need to do the aluminium leading edges on the vertical fins and some brush details then it's gloss time.

Thanks all.

Phil, we've actually escaped pretty lightly up where I am. We had about an inch of snow on Tuesday morning but it's all melted in the sun. Sounds like it is a lot worse down nearer you. Still damn cold for March though.

Starts to look  extremely good Gus, I always liked the high-viz-schemes better. You achieved a nice contrast, where it belongs and modulation looks great.
Have a nice time off work and off the bench. We have kind of an unusual heat wave for the time after a rough and cold winter, so bench time is a bit reduced, due to surfing, mountain biking and running with the dog. You have to take it, when it's there :D.

Cheers Rob

Thanks Rob. We're definitely not having a heat wave here, it's barely topped 4C all week here and been down to -5C at night. At least what snow we got melted very quickly in the sunshine.

Heat is never a problem around here - the record high is 30C which was hit for the first time one day last summer, average summer day is 16-18C. I had a Sudanese student who once said 'the sun in Aberdeen is like the light in your fridge, it illuminates but doesn't heat!' Describes it perfectly.

No posts on this for a while due to holidays and slogging through decals but finally done with all the stencils and markings.

I know Tamiya get some grief for the quality of their decals but these were great; easy to work with, not too thick and settled down nicely after a couple of applications of Mr Mark Softer.

Next step is to seal these in and then onto weathering with some oils and PLW

Next step is finish the cockpit and then missiles and undercarriage, then it'll be done. It's a really enjoyable kit to work on.

Nice! Great work on what appears to be a beautiful kit..Tamiya... Their kits..

though recently described as " boring"...why? Don't know, are wonderful.

You've done a great job... Love the F 14,  expensive for a 1/48 kit...but you

Proved it as "worth it" well done!

Thanks all, it is pricey for a 1/48 kit but you do get your money's worth and a nice build where everything just fits is refreshing once in a while.

Rob, those are the kit decals. It doesn't say on them who printed them but they do seem better quality than any Tamiya ones I've used before, so I suspect they've outsourced it to someone like Cartograph.
