I love this aircraft but the old Monogram kit is, well, old.  This is "New Tool" but has anyone put hands-on yet?  Flory did a review and they like it but have not built it yet.  335 pieces?  But looks like it could use some engine work as well as a new IP and resin tyres but holy cow that is a lot of pieces, including framing inside that likely will never see the light of day.  Of course, when has THAT ever stopped us??

Little birdie told me that the new ICM Marauder is one of the best 1/48 twins out there, in terms of engineering and dimensions.

I'm in and will be buying and building one in the next few months. I waited a long time for the Marauder and so far everything I've read and seen; the kit is a winner.

Fran, Cheers, mate!  Nicely written and I appreciate the commentary you provided.  Looks good.  Now if I could only swap all of my B-17 reference materials for B-26!!

IIRC, the venerable Monogram one was good, but had a major shape issue with the engine cowlings …

No doubt, the ICM one is better, especially after reading Fran’s very good review …

:omg: Just ordered the kit from one of our sponsors:

Hobby Nut.

I've ordered a few times from HN now and the service is excellent.

:wine:

I've order from HN too.  Agree!  Excellent service.

I always wanted to build the Monogram kit but could never find one.

I'm interested but the price is perhaps a bit more than I want to pay.

I paid over $70.00 for the Tamiya Betty , and that was hard for me to do

for a 1/48 kit.

I guess it's just like everything else these days... prices just keep skyrocketing and there will be point, where the kit or whatever, just isn't worth the money and we walk away.

Still want a Revell kit?  I’ll never build mine with all the 1/32 heavies still in the box.

Thanks Kev for the heads up - I'll be following the build and just back from his start and there are a few issues.

My kit is going to be shipped on Monday and right now I'm working on the Tamiya P-47D Razorback and hoping when it's done in about three weeks' time, I'll be ready to start my Marauder. After looking at the build thread on BritModeller, one of the weak spots is the IP and possibly the front office. I'm hoping Quinta or Eduard has their upgrade sets out by then, as I really don't want to start mine without them.

I'm sure they have been working on their AM upgrade sets for some time and hoping it won't be too long of a wait.

I just grabbed one from Sprue Brothers.  A Quick Look tells me that it’s the best B-26 in any scale. It makes me hungry for one in the One True Scale. 1/32

Glad you grabbed one and agreed, it's the best Marauder in any scale.

Mine is out for delivery today and now I wait for hopefully either Eduard or Quinta to do a cockpit detail set.
