I LOVE the separate wing root fillets.

You can have a seat with molded belts...  or none at all.  Nice!

I know...   my photography sucks.

Another thing I really like...   very light rib tape details on the control surfaces...   unlike my last Revell build...

@GazzaS

It does exist then with all the hype I felt this was never to be released  🤣 Can you please get it banged out for the weekend and give us a build review eh ?

theres a good fella .

haha...   how bout I do a big dry fit of the spar and all external components?  Will that suit?  I'd hate to let all of Edgar Brooks work go to waste.

It looks good. I haven’t received my notice yet, either.  Looking at that instruction book, I see there is NO doubt as to which team brought this kit out.
This looks like a winner.  I REALLY hope that rear fuselage door will install closed without having to resort to sanding, scraping, and filling.

Nice score!!  At 1/24, must be a monster!

Thanks guys. They’re getting hard to find. The basic shapes look ok. Not sure how to go about the display, probably hanging vertically on the wall.

for comparison side by side with HKM kit.

I hesitated to post this since @KevinM was going to build this kit, but a few weeks ago I saw Sprue Brothers' big sale on Hasegawa items and saw this kit.  I have been looking for a Special Hobby Sunderland Mk. III given the pretty amazing BigEd PE set that's available for it, but no luck (plus, sounds like there are fit and other issues with the kit).  When I saw the Hasegawa Emily, I found out that it had a similar BigEd set, as well as some other goodies, and even better, it supposedly goes together very nicely.  So, scratch the Sunderland and here comes the Emily.  Managed to track down the available aftermarket so I'm a pretty happy camper.

Even at 1/72 this thing is a beast.  I'm thinking of modeling it as a two-sided diorama - with the full exterior and crew running around loading and servicing the plane on one side, and the other side cutaway (with the wing removed) showing the crew in position at the various stations.  I managed to find the Hasegawa Japanese Navy Airmen set, and also ordered some Red Box sets of Japanese air crew so I should be all set with the figures.  This will help me to show both the interior and exterior of the plane and avoid problems with other plane kits where all the interior detail gets buttoned up never to be seen again.  Even better, I'll be able to save space with one of the wings removed.

Mike,  Can't wait to see you start on this beauty, especially the figures and the cutaway.  I'm thinking of doing something similar with the ZM P-51D so VERY interested to see how you set it up.  Those Japanese crew figures look amazing.   Chris

Thanks Chris!  Haven't quite figured out how to set it all up, but I have a faint idea in my head.

For figures, Plasticsoldierreview.com is a pretty good resource.  I ordered the three Red Box Japanese sets in 1/72, which get top marks from them (the Hasegawa set does as well).

Gary, the kit looks like it was worth the wait. I still haven't received my shipping notice but I'm in Canada so about as far away as you can get from them.

I got no notice.  It was just sitting outside my door.

I just an email from Kotare. Almost all orders are now sent. They said NZ Post had an issue with the notification of tracking numbers for some orders so not everyone might get a tracking number.

Hopefully that means mine and Peter's orders are on the way.

Something a little different for me came today.

From Tower Hobbies came something that is not armor and not in 1/35.

It's Tamiya's DeHavilland Mosquito B Mk. IV/PR Mk. IV (61066) in 1/48.

Although now about 20 years old, the kit looks pretty good....and the reviews I've read

all say good things about it. Anyway, something different for me.

Awesome purchase. I built the Tamiya Mossie when it first came out and she is still close to the standard of detail today in 32nd scale. Mine is the Queen of my Display Case along with my Fisher Sea Fury.

Just go slowly and almost no AM is needed. A fun build and the finished model is incredible.
