Wait with your jealousy, until it´s started. The build will be a challenge I guess. Many new things to learn, specially how to work with white metal best. Speaking of, I still try to find a way to get a magnetic tumbler polisher to my island, but no cookies. Seems to be a bigger problem, as I want to use it for cleaning and refining the white metal parts.
I hope, I will start my MFH builds very soon, but the Cobra Coupe will not be the first. It´s either the Crocker motorcycle or another one.

Cheers Rob

Love that car and will also be following along.  Will be an interesting build!

And this arrived!  Thanks to Mike (@Seiran01) for the kit.  I think this is my first Airfix kit and I am very impressed with the detail and quality of the kit.  Going to pick up Mike's recommended Airscale cockpit set.

The two fuselage sprues not in a bag were separated by paper.  Nice!

The engraving is very fine and the surface detail looks terrific.

The instructions are amazing.

Not sure if I'm going with one of the kit's marking options, or going AM.

For my limited car modeling, I use Gravity Paints from Spain and their products are awesome. Which brand of paints are you using?

I haven´t used many of the special car paints, but have bought from Zero Paints, StreetBlister, Gravity and Number Five, like in this case. I hope they work fine. My car model supplier claims, Number Five is very good and normally they are available. Zero Paints, which are very good are on demand, which means some weeks of waiting along with the other ordered goods.

Cheers Rob

Rob, same as you and have tested a number of auto modeler paints over the past few years. I found Gravity of Spain to be excellent, easy to order direct and I guess I was lucky and never a single color I wanted was out of stock.  I haven't heard of Number Five and will be interested in your thoughts and comments after using them.

From all I have read and videos I've followed, an awesome kit and I'll be following when you start your build thread. Double check, as I think the decals are Cartograf and a shame not to use them. 👍

I hear you on the decals.  I've wanted to do a JJohnson Spitfire for a long time, but I know it is probably the most popular build.  Still, it looks good!!!

Just go for it, It doesn't matter what is popular or not, it's what you want to be on display in your home to see each day.

Agreed.

If anyone has watched any of my "What did you just get" posts I prefer

out of the usual subjects, but I agree...build what you want. The hobby is

meant for ourselves to enjoy.

Agreed! It's probably why I have so many Mustangs and Airacobras in my case right now.  Have you seen my 1/72 P-51C Purple Float plane?  B) I love both aircraft.   Working my way into Spitfires, Phantom IIs and other subjects.

But I have a SPECIAL Mustang project in mind for the (hopefully near) future....

Today....

From Amazon, and costing me just a bit over $11.00 using Amazon Points;

It's Takom's T29 Heavy Tank (No. 2143) in 1/35 scale. I've been looking

for this one. An experimental , stretched,  Pershing with a V-12,and a big gun. It never saw service.

Also, Tamiya's 2008 re-release/remake of their; Italian Medium Tank

Carro Armato M13/40 (35296) in 1/35. I built the 1974 version over 20 years

ago. This release has four new sprues of parts. New figures, aluminum barrel, and photo-etch. New plastic parts include: figures, tools, exhausts, sprockets,

Link & length tracks, new headlights, and other details. The upper deck has

been said to have been revised, but is still dated 1974. New sprues are dated 2008. I did order a set of Friuls for this, but they haven't shown up.

Lastly, some Surfacer from Mr. Hobby----Mr. Mahogany 1000 and a

spray can of Tamiya gun metal lacquer TS-38.

I have never used the Mahogany surfacer before----have you guys?

Arrived one day early from Hobbynut Models, one of our forum sponsors.

Now just waiting for either Quinta or Eduard to let fly with a cockpit detail upgrade set.

Nice purchases. Your stash amazing to see. Any chance of posting a few pictures?

My stash all fits in a small walk-in closet off a small bedroom, admittedly,

it's getting full. I just want to get a few of the big-scale kits coming out

this year; the Andy's M8, M113, and the Gecko Universal Carrier and that's

going to be it for a while.....hopefully, unless something..really Special is

released. Like a......big-scale Brewster Buffalo, M7 Priest, WW1 British Mk.IV.

Paul

Got curious as to about how many kits are in the stash these days.

I've been thinning mine out over the past few years, as the thought was to hedge against wanting to build a kit and is no longer available and having the must build kits, I never got around to in my earlier days. Being 76, I'm well into those senior days and trying to mainly first build what I've kept and only buying a kit here and there as need/desire dictates. 😉

The resulting haul from 2 swap and sells over the last couple of weekends. I also picked up the Tamiya Vosper torpedo boat before this.
