From Hasegawa, their Boeing P-12E in 1/32. This thing has been around for decades, being first released in the 70's. According to Scalemates, my model is From 1975 or thereabouts. The parts are still sealed in the bag and the decals look OK , but.......... Nice box art I think. Anyway I built this around 1980 . the last boxing was in the 2000's but those sell for a lot more. Anyway I'll have fun with this one. I like aircraft of this era😀 Oh, I just added this.....Got my set of "Golden Maple" 10/0 paint brushes.... I picked up some of the Hasegawa 1/32 yellow wing kits myself. Not sure if you know, but Lone Star Models makes cockpit sets for them. Vector also makes engine sets. 2

And, even though it’s not needed for most yellow winged aircrafts, don’t go buying their R-1820, or Shvestov M-62. Because they could not understand the oil sump shape, they managed to distribute the 9 cylinders unevenly. On a radial 9 cylinders, the angle between each is 360/9 = 40 degrees, not 37 or 43 🤬 ! One interesting link for 1/32 engines. https://fpwmodelshop.pl/en_US/c/132-scale/51 As for Lone Stars, is he still in business ? Hubert 2 2
BlrwestSiR Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Just got my first 1/32 vac.kit. My LHS finally listed the Echelon BAC Lightning they've had in storage for the last few years. This is one kit I've wanted for a while. I'll try to pick it up next week. 6
HubertB Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Fantastic pick, Carl. The only accurate Lightning in 1/32 … Hubert 4

I read something about the owner " liquidating assets".

I've had the Trumpeter kit in the stash for quite some time and most of the AM for it. I'm glad I procrastinated long enough that I can use much of that AM on this kit instead. 2
GusMac Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Looking forward to seeing a WIP of the Lightning Carl. Having conquered my 'fear' of resin kits thanks to Ernie, a vac would be the next step but watching Tom's builds of things like his Stirling and Sunderland I'm not convinced my scratch building skills are there yet. 2

Gus, I'm in the same boat. I've yet to build a vac kit. I only own one other vac kit and that's a 172 Canuck. 2

He's on Facebook - he re-opens his website when he is available to take orders, then closes it when he has a backlog so he can get orders out. 1
BlrwestSiR Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Seeing the great service that @belugawhaleman gets from Plaza Japan, I decided to give them a try. More importantly they actually had the Tamiya 1/48 F-14A in stock and at a very reasonable price. So one more kitty to add to the stash. 4 1
ScottsGT Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Just can’t help yourself, can you Carl? I think we need to form an intervention group for some of us here. I could be a member of F-16’s anonymous. And F-4 anonymous, and P-40 anonymous, and ……… 1 2
belugawhaleman Posted April 14 Posted April 14 That's a nice kitty! I placed an order with Plaza last week and that kit was in the basket but it would have made my shipping too high so I went with fewer items. I think that's got to be about the nicest Tom cat out there from what I hear. Can't wait to see your build! 1

Martinnfb Posted April 14 Posted April 14 My group would be probably very small, but how could I not buy it? pre-war stock from HongKong 3

My favourite kerosene burner. 1/32 is just too big to have a bunch of them so the downsizing made sense when Tamiya came out with their kits. Just took me some time to get around to actually getting them. Probably the biggest intervention would be for Spitfires. There has be to be well over a dozen in the stash plus the 11 built already. 2 1
BlrwestSiR Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I made it to the LHS today and picked up the Lightning kit. When I got home, I opened it up and decided to compare it to the Trumpeter one. The Trumpeter fuselage is quite a bit shorter. The belly tank is a different shape too. The instructions include a set of 1/32 plans. I'm going to get the Aerocraft resin canopy as the kit one is a bit yellow. The LHS owner thinks he still has a couple more of them. He went to check but they were Hunter kits instead but he said there's more boxes to unpack. 4

belugawhaleman Posted April 17 Posted April 17 More stufff....... From Hasegawa, their Mitsubishi J2M3 RAIDEN (Jack) type 21 (08882) in 1/32 scale. I built the Tamiya 1/48 kit back in the 80's and I have always liked the looks of this aircraft. Finally got this one from Plaza. From AOSHIMA , Their HONDA DREAM 50 '97 in 1/12 (06295).. I bought this thing as a companion piece for my "BIKER GIRL" figure I bought recently. I figured that this was an attractive yet "Girly" bike suitable for the figure.I may paint it to match the figure. Next, some aftermarket stuff: From Quickboost , their QB 48 036 B-339 Buffalo Engine 1/48 Scale. A replacement for the Tamiya Brewster Buffalo. Nice detail on this. It requires adding the push rods. From Gaspatch Models , a pair of resin Browning cal .30 fixed machine guns. These will replace the the kit guns for my Hasegawa 1/32 P-12E kit I picked up recently. These are amazing! From Airscale, a set of WW II USAAF instrument Dial Decals in 1/32. last, another 1/12 scale resin " Egg Girl" figure from Hasegawa. This time; No.06 "Amy McDonnell" (army girl) 4
denders Posted Friday at 05:53 PM Posted Friday at 05:53 PM Some of my birthday (last month) present arrived today. Funny thing, I just sent an email this morning about when it was going to be shipped. 5

I use my Sherline mill as a drill press, but sometimes it would be nice to have a quicker change option. 3
belugawhaleman Posted Saturday at 06:10 PM Posted Saturday at 06:10 PM Picked this up from EBAY . It was delivered today..... From HASEGAWA, one of their classic kits. Their 1/32 BF2C-1 5th Bomb Squadron (O8235). This boxing was released in 2014 according to Scalemates. All the parts are sealed in their bag and the box was still factory sealed. I'm very pleased. The decals look perfect. This kit appears to be molded in the same gray plastic Hasegawa uses today...not that ancient brittle stuff used in the P-12E that I purchased earlier. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hasegawa-08235-bf2c-1-5th-bomb-squadron--259124 Found this Picture of the Aircraft in a museum in Thailand...... Nice! 4

Cheers Rob Well, at least they got the name right on the box… The issue is that they used a drawing (by a well-known aviation artist who has produced a lot of aeroplane drawings) that is completely wrong … Hubert 3
