Soo.... What did you just get???

AM time at the LHS flood sale.

First up is I'm fairly certain every PE set released by Eduard for the 1/32 HK B-17G. I got them with a full set of their resin engines.

1000014872.thumb.jpg.ca260bac9a5a80f794817ee08e77bddd.jpg

I also got a bundled group of Barracudacast 1/32 Spitfire cockpit updates.  It ended up being 5 in total along with a Tempest nose correction set.

Next up was again a bundle of what turned out o be 3 Master 1/24 RP-3 rocket sets and an RB Typhoon rad set.

1000014873.thumb.jpg.18ed86cc9d532293331a5ed00f586b01.jpg

Also for the big Airfix Typhoon, a Mk1 detail set.

1000014875.thumb.jpg.7598d29a4763bb538d8c77de44f96c63.jpg

At this point, Martin reminded me I don't have a Typhoon kit and he could (hint, hint) use those bits. So I can either find a Tiffie or send them to my esteemed partner in crime.

Don the owner asked my son Edward to take a look in one of the boxes and see if there was anything he liked. He picked a 1/48 Tamiya Mossie and a couple Testors/Hawk F8F  Bearcats. Don said they were on the house. Those guys have been great any time my sons go with me and this time as no different.

That's the end of the flood sale. They've at this point either sold most of it or repacked what's left into bags for sale at a later date.

Before I asked, Don mentioned it's not worth their time to put it online so it'll continue to be in-store only. They're afraid somebody will buy a kit and then complain there's no decals or instructions and demand a refund. Which has happened sadly.

Lastly, I posted that BNA is doing a Deal of the Day and kicked it off with the big Hasegawa Camel kit. I'm not really a WWI guy, but I've always looked at this kit and thought it would be a nice one. At $130 ish CAD shipped from Australia I finally took the plunge.

I said " you do need to get one " LOL

Anyway, if in doubt - blame it on Carl  😈

That you did. But I keep thinking it's too big. Same with the Mossie in 1/24.

The Ford Escort has arrived.

It's definitely a decent size in 1/12.

The entire model is 3D printed. The body is too big to do in one print so it was split in half. There's tabs and pins to help align things. I knew about this from a build thread over on Britmodeler.

PXL_20240813_195348025.thumb.jpg.80b6cd38a9bc493cd53d3485c905b7a3.jpg

I suppose you could also leave it in two halves and create some sort of fun/whimsical diorama but I digress.

There's definite layer lines but I'm hoping that a coat of primer will level them out. There wasn't any mention of them on the aforementioned build thread so I'm hoping that's the case.

Over all, for the price I paid I got what I expected. It's no MFH kit but was also 1/4 the price.

No "Egg Girls" today but four items from PlazaJapan.

First Three items from Tamiya.

1. M4A3 Sherman w/Single Motor (30056) in 1/35.

Just a bit of fun. Interesting note; the tracks

do not need to be glued on the

ends.....they appear to be molded in one piece, and look good.

2. Ilyushin IL-2 Shturmovik (61113) in 1/48.  Not the combo boxing with the GAZ, I've been wanting this one for some time.

3. Sturmgeschutz III Ausf.B (35281) in 1/35. This kit includes photo-etch

and metal barrel.

Last, from FineMolds, their Imperial Japanese Army Type 94 6-Wheeled

Truck "Hard Top" (FM30) in 1/35. Just thought it looked interesting.

Paul, I was on BNA Modelworld's website and they have a few Egg Girl kits on sale. Don't know if they're ones you have or if the price is decent but thought I'd mention it.

https://www.bnamodelworld.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=Egg girls

If you click on an item, you can get an estimate for the shipping costs.

No idea what I am thinking some days...I don't even enjoy making 1/72 aircraft...and find Airfix a bit "Dad's & Lads " rather than any good tooling. Probs will sit on the shelf till I sell it on again ...or build the whole thing in 6 hours in an air of contempt .

Can't afford to use GBP or go on holiday , hence useless Euro instead :) Also use them in the shopping trolleys as well !

Some items today.....

From AFV Modeller, some resin replacement road  wheels for the Das Werk

StuG III G in 1/16 (AFV-16052). The road wheels in the kit are a bit of a struggle to put together with their overly tight tire fit. These are better detailed, with manufacturer and size detail on the tires. I wasn't thrilled about the

price , however.

Also, from Eduard, a set of masks for the Tamiya 1/48 IL-2 Stormovik

(EX703) .

Last, from Excel 3 sets of plastic clamps (55663). 'Saw these in a model

build video.....thougt they might be useful.

Paul

Nice additions to the stash and supplies. I've had those clamps for many years and find them good for some applications and not others. The key to the clamp is the locking wedge on the outside - well worth the cost.

Been after Hasegawa's early Typhoon for a while for a specific build .

Last repop was Eduard in 2017, which has not shown it's face in 3 months of looking ....however picked up this original 1999 version last week.

Probs paid too much for it , but what a great bot of boxart and uncluttered packaging .

Nice haul Peter! Cool that's a 2-in-1 boxing. Will this be your group build

offering?

Thanks Paul, as I have three kits I want to build for the GB, with two now in the stash. Still waiting for the SP Mystere to be released.

Box description is a bit confusing: a choice of two versions can be built: single or two seater but only one kit can be built. Originally, I thought it was two full kits in the box like Eduard, Arma and Magic Factory combo kits are but not with the Kinetic release.

Oh, I see. Still pretty nice. I bought a Takom boxing that had two

Complete panzer 1's, a a and b model. When I opened the box

I discovered that panzer 1 tanks in 1/35 are tiny....so the double

boxing seemed appropriate.

Just got back home from a week in Northern Ontario camping.

In the UK, they have a Spitfire beer and I believe a Lancaster one too. So it's only appropriate that we have one for the Arrow. It come from a local brewery located in Parry Sound. The city has historical ties to the development of the Arrow during the '50s.
