Looking mighty good. Alway a good feeling to reach the paint booth stage in a build, as for me, it's the mid point and you're now on the back stretch and time to start thinking about the next build possibilities.

Doing a Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.D for a GB on another forum. But i was going to build it for my Bocage dio anyway. So one stone, two birds sort of thing. Luckily Tamiya have provided decals that fit a vehicle with the same numbers as one used by 12.SS.Pz.Div in Normandy.

The CF-104 never left the bench but I took a quick break from the ZM 109 to fix the paint on the tail.

Thanks Phil. It's Alcad Polished Aluminium over a black base coat.  It's fragile so I tried to paint all the other panels first.

I'm awaiting some paints and pigments to arrive for my Sd.Kfz.251 build so i whipped this little kit out of my stash and decided to throw it together (gives me an excuse to fill the slot it left lol).

1:35 Tamiya PAK40 L46. It's way old and is really showing it's age. Quite a bit of flash but it's a good test bed for a few things.

Fantastic progress ... some mighty good looking legs

Thanks Rob and Peter. I'll try to get some more pics shortly.

Meantime, after using it as a paint mule, I couldn't stop and ended up building the Keaton Batmobile.

A true badass cruiser Carl, but somehow, I would have liked a hint of blue in the black.

Cheers Rob

Does a hint of blue deepen the black?

Maybe not, but it enhances the creepy noir effect 'Frank Miller' style.

BTW.: I think about using small amount of inks in colors for tinting effects for some time. When time comes, I will try that.

I have an Adolf Galland figure.  My skill at depicting very dark hair is not there.  But the blue thing...   made me think.

Inks are definitely worth trying them. I tried them once on my figures for my Skoda RSO dio, to enhance the leather effect of the shoes and belts. I wanted a worn blackish brown look with a little leathery shine and liked the effect. The ink wasn't mixed into the color, but added on top of it.

How about under my bench?  I decided enough of my loud “airbrush” compressor.  This old beast was designed and used for pneumatic handicapped door openers.  Saved it from the dumpster and tried to weld up the rust hole in the tank.

It got to the point of just being too loud when things are very quiet. It would actually startle me sometimes if I wasn’t expecting it to turn on.
Soooo..  Took a trip to Harbor Freight and bought this.

Ahhhhh….much quieter now.  $160 OTD with my coupon.

Scott, how quiet is it? I'm looking to replace my current compressor which isn't too bad but underpowered.

I can get the California Air Tools one which says it's the same 60dB as the one you bought. Just want to get an idea how quiet it is.

It’s not silent, but pretty darn quiet for a compressor.  Especially one with an air tank.  At the end of the run cycle, pressure switch that releases the air will get your attention though.
If I had a tv running near me, it would not be a problem.
