And sometimes several wing panels can sometimes be done at once... if circumstances permit. And seemingly go down in minutes. But sometimes you wanna do the single-panel game. While the Kingfisher stress cracks are being repaired and drying, I started doing the prep work on my next build: The Revell Spitfire Mk IIa. I accumulated a good deal of Barracuda resin detail sets, the Quinta cockpit set and Eagle Cal decals. Been cleaning up mold lines and now I'm at the opposite end of the plastic scale: Monogram Kingfisher plastic: brittle and hard as a rock while the Revell's Spit plastic is almost butter soft. 😉 6 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Spitfire Posted February 4, 2023 Share Posted February 4, 2023 Hi Peter, the Revell Spitfire while not in the same class as the Tamiya Spitfires is a nice build, the Barracuda stuff is great for enhancing it, I think I used a YAHU IP on mine. I was looking into foiling a model and I read on a forum that Edgar sold a home made foil glue from available household products. Just didn’t take with the competition from all the video games that were coming to age in the ‘90’s and early 2000’s. At least the youngest got bit by the car bug. Oldest is a 1LT. In the Army and wants to get back into building another off-road truck. I had a Suzuki Samurai I handed down to him as his first car. He’s got a transfer coming up at the end of the year to Captain’s training and then off to a new duty station where he‘ll probably start looking for a project car. My grandson is not quite 2 yet, so no modeling yet. Kid eats like a horse.
