Ok guys, I’m calling this one done and ready for the spray booth. I have learnt a lot about PE on this one and using zimmerit brass sheeting. The wheels will be stripped of and the tracks sprayed and weathered separately. With all the brass I’m going to soak the whole model in washing up liquid for a couple of hours to degrease it. Hopefully by next weekend it will be dry to start spraying.  If you guys spot anything I’ve missed just shout.........

Now back to the Sd.Kfz. 166.......

Your Tiger is looking pretty cool in it's half metal appearance. I like the look of your fine PE work, and it's almost a shame to see it covered with paint. Will there be any dents and bruises, because PE is perfect to replicate that.

Cheers Rob

Every time I click on this thread it starts at the top of the page, and I have to scroll down thru the pics to get to new content, and every time I do that, I see something I missed the last time I was here, I just had a good look at the fenders, and realized just how good they look and the edges have perfect bends that line up expertly...... the fenders are perfectly executed, and look REALLY good, the Zimmeret or what ever it's called ( I was told one I am no expert on German armor ) looks perfectly placed, especially on the turret......  I can't wait to see how you paint this one , Phil........ I see something new every visit.............  so patiently waiting for some paint spillage, Phil..............

Thanks Rob, I like the metal looks as well. The PE at the start was daunting but slowly got to grips with it, learnt a lot. Not sure if to knock this around to much, with the PE I’m worried in ruining it for a few dents.........I’ll base coat it first in think........

Jeff, you’re too kind. This build pushed me and have never done as much PE in my life. My old Mission Models bender came in for a lot of use but the small parts have to bent with pliers or even tweezers. The fenders lining up is a pure coincidence. The Eduard sheet brass Zimmerit is a cheat but suits my limited bench time. It maybe a little to regular for some people but I am really happy with it........as for the painting, I am really happy with the road wheel camouflage pattern but as for replicating that on the hull and turret..........help........I washed the whole model last weekend ( never model during the week because of getting home past 8.00 pm every night ) so should be nice a dry. All being well base coating tomorrow.......
