Andy the Sheep
Oliver, just finished to scroll the whole thread and I'm seriously considering to resume my old idea to shift from modelling to platypus breeding Andrea
shark64
Thanks for comments fellows, I appreciate it. First half working on the screens, it takes a good amount of time to measure, cut, sand , remeasure and install. It glued small styrene tabs in the back of the screens to keep them in place . Here's how it looks so far. 10

shark64
Nose is done. It took 3 days to do the screens. I need to think about the tail rotor and folding the blades before closing everything up. So left to do is Build base build tow truck and find or create figures. ....and paint everything. 5

HubertB
Beautiful, Oliver. And the H-34 is so much better-looking than the platypus-nosed Wessex 👍 Hubert

First helicopter I flew in - Air Sea Rescue from Leuchars bringing an injured skier down from Glenshee. Noisy, cramped and vaguely terrifying but they did the RAF well for many years. 2

There is no denying that the Wessex was better and more efficient than the H-34 : more powerful, more reliable ... But this ......."thing" grafted on its nose 🤢 .... Remember we gave the world the Blackburn Blackburn, the Blackburn Beverley and the Fairey Gannet! 😃
Peterpools
Gus how true but we Yanks had our own fugly aircraft as well: Boeing X-32, The MacDonnald Goblin and my all time ugliest: The Champion Lancer.
shark64
Many update lately. worked and finished tail rotor. It was a pain in the A@$. Parts supplies in the kit were just plain awful so I improvised a bit. 7
Peterpools
Oliver Brilliant detailing and tremendous work. The photo with the kit tail rotor does show how bland and barebones it was out of the box. And after you worked your magic, adding the details -OMG - incredible. The term "Night and Day" doesn't even come close. a
shark64
Happy New year. Worked on the main rotor and the folding mechanism. I am trying to make the blades straight since they come with the droop with the kit. I tried Hot water(didn't work), I tried with the blow dryer twice and there is a slight bend still. I inserted brass rods in the main rotor first so I don't have to fight the blades and the angle when I install the blade holder brackets 6

shark64
I am trying to get everything together in order to go to my club meeting tomorrow. There are so many parts no glued down, I am afraid to break things during transport so I am debating if I go or not. I added the cargo hook at the bottom today(no done yet). 8
