  1. Now half over already! We woke early, and headed off to Palm Beach on the Gold Coast. Ambient temperature 28 Celcius, water temperature 25 Celcius. Cloud cover early that cleared after 10am, which by then is time to get out of the Sun anyway. Dogs had a lovely time in the Lagoon there, and now we're back home and prepping for lunch and a snooze. Here's hoping that everyone's wishes come true for today; whether that be something nice in the Stocking, or enjoying the company of those special to you. Steve
  2. The Zoukei Mura Fw-190 family was announced back in 2014... https://www.zoukeimura.co.jp/en/sentiment/oyajiblog_056.html The Old Man seems pre-occupied these days with bringing out more 1/48 scale Phantoms. I have given up on seeing these kits come to fruition. S
  3. Very nicely done, a lot of extra work packed into that build. S
  4. I weakened... And picked up another Eduard combo set for the Revell Fw-190. That resin motor alone is just so gorgeous for words. S
  5. That's an excellent solution Rob!
  6. Might be a possible point of ingress? We also have the same kind of Fly problem. We have an internal garage door leading to a covered courtyard, and if that door isn't shut when the cooking is happening, the Flies get in through this small gap in the internal sliding door. Just Summer in Queensland!
  7. Modern Australian houses, especially north of the New South Wales border, are deliberately made to 'breathe'. North of the Tropic of Capricorn, Cyclone bolts are mandatory... Long threaded bolts secured by long nuts, that run internally from the bottom of the wall frame up to and through the roof truss, which basically stops the entire roof from blowing off in a Cyclone. Similarly, houses here are made a little draughty to alleviate internal pressure during storms, and allow hot air inside to dissipate. Possums, Rats, Mice and even Snakes can get inside the roof cavity easily; it's not unusual to find a shed Snakeskin up inside the roof occasionally. IMO up here if it's a hygiene or cleanliness problem, you're much more likely to see Cockroaches about the place than Flies. Gaz, you mentioned that the Stove exhaust vents to the outside of the house... May I ask, how are the spaces above the vents in your Bathroom / Toilets? These might do with a screen across the top of them if they're just an open gap into the Roof cavity. S

    My twin

What I want to know is... Are there T-shirts? S
  9. Wow, that's way too big for me... Although, I think I wouldn't mind if someone gave me a little Tug for starters? S
  10. A quick snap, with proof of Hobby thrown in for good measure. Steve
  11. There were some CAD shots added to Facebook a couple of years ago, a box art illustration, and pointers towards an A-8 variant as well (KTY 32026). But so far, much like the ZM offering, nothing of any substance. S
  12. You crazy Canucks... That's not a Penis, stop being phallacious. On a slightly related note though... Canada's CMO says you can't kiss your partner during Coitus. Apparently, Covid-19 is in saliva, but not in semen. Just personally, I find that a bit hard to swallow... S
  13. That would be a non-standard mount there. Try these on for size... And... Plus an internal view for the ammunition storage. HTH, S
  14. Not specific to modelling, but Niva related... A Mate and I were following a Niva up near Noosa one morning on a surfing trip. The guy went to adjust his rear view mirror, and it came off in his hand! We were laughing so much, I had to pull off the road and stop. S
  15. Harv, that is 'should' sit further back towards the tail... Aires by the look of it have cocked something up somewhere along the line. Jim experienced the same problem as you, in his excellent pull-apart 'Dora build a decade ago, and I quote: The Aires-supplied deck is the correct length and shape. However it's going into the Hasegawa fuselage that has a deck that's too wide and too long. So the solution that you found works, and you're in great company as well into the bargain. S
  16. Harv, The Aires rear deck is too narrow because the rear wall of the resin cockpit sits further back towards the tail, in the correct position. The kit cockpit has no rails for the seat to sit within, and it's rear wall sits more forward roughly in the position where the rails would be (if it had them that is). So the seat position is right, just not the rear wall... And therefore the rear cover is longer and fatter than it should be. HTH, S
  17. That's better Well done Mate! S
  18. No photos Brad...
  19. The new tank is up and running, with all the little salty life forms settled in and doing well. Thankfully, the old tank has been scrubbed and cleaned and many of the various lights and assemblies are being sold off to New owners. My Wife would like to have kept the Hmahli sump but it didn't fit under the new tank unfortunately. Someone has bought it for half of what she paid for it, so she's fairly happy it's going to a new home. S
  20. Went looking again to see if the shipping restrictions have been lifted from Germany. Yes and no. Wanted to get some spark plugs for the Eduard BMW motor on my Fw-190 build. Apparently the only shipping available to Au is via UPS, at 40 Euros a pop. That's $83 Au for a small tray of resin parts including shipping. For that price I can get the full Eduard resin combo set; motor, prop, wheels and landing gear. Yeah, nah.
  21. I'm not surprised, that turned out very well Harv. When the time comes, we'll show you what parts of the upper wing to fuselage join needs to be puttied. S

    109 F G

People will say it's complicated, but it's really quite simple Harv... The 109 G was an air superiority and fighter bomber aircraft used by the Axis forces in World War 2. Whereas, 109 F is approximately 42.8 degrees Celsius. S
  23. Yeah, PE for mine as well. Can never get clean bends, and never seem to keep it attached no matter how much superglue I use. S
  24. Yes, it looks like a green shift to that photo, but the Camo is basically right. The point of your choice of paints is to try to show contrast between the two RLM greens, that are close enough for your own tastes. The RLM 71 changed noticeably over time, especially as the yellow component faded out of the solution... The colour left behind a lighter and more grey green. As shown on this Heinkel sitting with one of the Do 335 pre-production machine. The RLM 70 on the Dornier rear spinner giving a good comparison. Your choice looks good to me, a little yellow for my tastes but should look fine once the RLM 70 is added. S
