  1. John Nice work on getting the MG's in place, they do look so good. I originally thought the same as Kev but once you see how the wing attaches to the fuselage, the angle is on the money.
  2. Mark WOW, going to be an awesome scratch-built project and will be following all the way.
  3. Mark Nothing like an OOB build and even better, low budget one to get the juices cranking. Which kit is it?
  4. Frank Just catching up and can't believe I missed this post. Awesome build - one terrific looking P-51.πŸ†
  5. Tim Add another WOW! Some mighty fine modeling and a steady hand. So very well done.
  6. Paul Terrific build and nice to see this type of model being built.
  7. Phil Looking forward to branching out and trying my hand at something new for me: helicopters. The kit does look great and I promised myself I would even take the shrink wrap off the box until the Spitfire is done as I know I have no willpower. πŸ™ƒ
  8. John Nice stat on fitting the 20mm's - going to look real good.
  9. Paul Bad photography or not, the finish still looks terrific.
  10. John The camera and window look just fine. Don't knock yourself out reworking something that small. On ward and upwards to the wings.
  11. MIke. very interesting. Any chance of posting some photographs of your Bonsai Tress - eager to see them.
  12. Jeroen Beautiful work and detailing on both models - going to be a great vignette when done
  13. Paul Looking mighty good. From the pics, looks as if you are giving the Tamiya's Steyr 1500A a nice, dusty finish - looks so good.
  14. Ernie Thank you for the information and research on the early Mustangs. I sure wish Tamiya would see the light and do the series a series of early Mustangs through the B/C. Of course, the odds are slim to nil of this every happening in 32nd scale but maybe 48th scale, as their excellent P-51B/C is getting a bit aged in the tooth these days.
  15. Rob Greatly appreciate the explanations and my conclusions are: anneal with heat and NO water to cool as it will harden the brass rather then soften it.
  16. Scott Awesome progress and looking so good. My vote (if it means anything or even if we're voting) would be just for an ocean floor dio base. I can't imagine the size and weight if you did a diorama of the Seaview encased in acrylic. And time - incalculable.
  17. John How true but when you have been on a perennial diet, it was part of the game.
  18. Just think, the Devastator is really going to be released. Of course, it has to be a kit over fifteen old since it was first developed - talk about buying new when it's already old. Sure hope the decals are new πŸ†
  19. Harv Sorry to hear you and Bev have separated and have decided to go your own ways. 44 years is a long time to share each other's life but if it what makes you both happy, then it might be for the best. Wishing you both happiness. Yes moving is a long drawn out adventure but better days to come.
  20. Rob Some mighty fine and delicate PE work - looking simply fantastic. One question on annealing: some say that the annealed part needs to be dipped in waters and others say the dip in water hardens the brass again. Since you didn't mention dipping the annealed PE in water, I'm assuming you don't use water at all.
