Carl Nice work on working the intake ducting to fit perfectly. From what I've read, the kit has a reputation of testing a builders metal and you absolutely have everything under control and looking good. Keep 'em comin Peter- 85 replies

Gaz Right with Phil - nothing the kit can throw at you has kept you from overcoming the issues and moving on. You're mighty lucky no bleeding issues from the engraver hitting your finger. I know if it were me, it always turns into a medical mess 😷 Keep 'em comin Peter -
Very much appreciated and a joy of a kit to build. Missiles and drop tanks are now done and getting ready for another update this weekend. Keep 'em comin Peter

Hi Kai Yup, days of fun for sure. Missiles and drop tank are now completely decaled and tomorrow, time for the final gloss clear coat. I decided to go with Mr Color for the Semi Gloss Clear and of course, I didn't have any so I ordered two bottle, which is n ow on it's way. Close to crossing the finish line and hopefully work won't be delayed, waiting for the Semi Clear Gloss. See what happens Marks 1000's of rivets has to take a herculean effort and way more then 96 decals.🙃 Keep 'em comin Peter

Kai I'm not capable of building two kits at once and the F4 builds proved that. Mark's ability to to brilliant work on multi kits and all on the bench at the same time is a combination of his special skills and magic mixed in all together. I just wish I had a small portion of his abilities. Keep 'em comin Peter

Phil Evil bay, keep on bidding, sometimes you get lucky. I normally never win anything but I do keep trying. 🤞 Keep 'em comin Peter

Summer project Kawasaki KI-61, Tamiya 1/48
Peterpools replied to DocRob's topic in LSM 1/48 Work in Progress
Hi Rob Diane and I just celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary and if I've learned one thing in all these years, keep the "Chief" happy and all is well. I'm so lucky my wife has always be supportive of all my hobbies and no issues at all. I surely would love to build a large scale J3 one of these days and just may do it some day. I soloed a J3 in 1965, Private and Commercial in a Cessna 172 and bought and enjoyed a Piper PA22 Colt for a number of years - those days are long gone. Keep 'em comin Peter -

Mark Love your awesome progress on a very tough build. Thank you for the compliments but I only wish I had your building skills. I have on it's way the newly updated and re-released Tamiya 1/12 Brabham BT44b now and after following your MHF builds, going to be trying my hand at large scale F1 later this year. Mirage 2000D saved from the shelf
Peterpools replied to mark31's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Mark Nice progress and KH strikes again. Bad enough they only give you one option for the leading edge slats, which is incorrect for when on the ground and parked and poor instructions again; two items that should not be. Keep 'em comin Peter. -
Summer project Kawasaki KI-61, Tamiya 1/48
Peterpools replied to DocRob's topic in LSM 1/48 Work in Progress
Rob I feel as you and knowing the cause of a problem, leads to both a solution and avoiding it in the future. About ten years ago, I purchased a beautiful display case we keep in the hallway of our home. The only models I have in my display case are those I've built over the past ten years and a chunk of that time, I wasn't even modeling at all, so I still have loads of display room. The display case is in the hallway and we treat it as a piece of furniture. Besides looking at my 'mini museum' when the mood strikes (very often to be truthful), the extra bonus of the display case is the models stay absolutely dust free and are never touched. I do have forum friends who do as you do and when their display shelves are full, give a few models away, making room for the newer builds. My motivation for modeling is mostly the same as yours, as it's a means of relaxation and enjoyment, where I can leave the outside world behind when need be. I just wish there were a selection of 1/24th scale civil aircraft that I can build models of the planes I've flown and always wanted to but never did. But in the end, I'm just so lucky my wife Diane was so happy about the display case and is my number one fan. Keep 'em comin Peter -
Hi Kai Thank you for the very kind comments on my F4. I'm still not sure which semi clear gloss to use but have it now narrowed down to Mr Color (lacquer) or MRP (acrylic lacquer). I'm leaning towards Mr Color and when it dries, awesome clarity and hard as nails. Right now I'm knee deep in decaling the missiles (96 decals) and finishing the centerline drop tank. Then the seal coat of gloss, followed up by the semi clear. I'm starting to see the finish line now Keep 'em comin Peter

Gaz Congratulations on your award - so very well earned and a mighty nice haul of kits. For my brother and myself, when we use to compete and go to shows back in the day, the vendor room was a magical place and we always always managed to find loads to buy. Enjoy your convention haul Keep 'em comin Peter
