  1. Foil it baby! Welcome to the forums!
  2. I keep telling myself that... but I don't believe that anything but the top 10-15 will come back. Camel, Fokker D.VII, Albatros, most likely... Felixstowe? I don't think so.
  3. Yeah...Like Harv said: "WTF"???
  4. Well, my friend... Let me tell you about my research. My research started last year. The first thing I looked for was German heraldry with three black diamonds, because I thought they were black. After a bit of work, I found a German family from the time of knights that had three black diamonds. The Coat of arms I found was granted to the town of Burbach by the West German Gov't a while back. So, this made the colors black, yellow, and blue... and our pilot would have been from The Rhein-Westfalen area. I was content with this for a while, but found the tones of the B&W image inconsistent with these colors. So, I laid it aside a while. A year later, I had the WWI aircraft itch again, and I remembered this photo: So, I asked anybody over at WWIaircraft models...dotcom etcetera etcetera. And one of the guys actually got hold of one of those authors who've done a shyteload of those skinny profile books... and he passed one that it was most likely an OAW machine (built at Ostdeustche Albatros Werke) from Jasta 54, a Saxon unit that had a green and white striped tail that had 5 green stripes. The picture being taken most likely after the Armistice when Germany had to surrender all of it's Fokker D.VII's. The photo taken at Saarbrücken. This information, while welcome, caused me to re-ignite the engine of research. Now I needed a Saxon pilot, though I know there were often Bavarians in Prussian Jastas and vice versa. But the information on Jasta 54 is pretty slim. I looked at probably 1,000 German coats of arms looking for three Diamonds. I found white diamonds, green diamonds, and red diamonds. The green diamonds were a real possibility, but further research led me to the fact that the coat of arms was granted by the West German Gov't to an entirely new municipality around a convent. No good at all! Researching the Red diamonds, just to be thorough again took me away from Saxony. A couple other examples of black diamonds did appear, but these all took me away from Saxony. With all of my searching going nowhere, and frustration setting in, I hit upon the idea to find a list of Saxon cities. Bear in mind, that Saxony has changed sizes, more than once due to Napoleon and also that little thing we call WWII. But anyway, I found a list. So, I called up each city, looking up it's Wappen or Coat of arms. Eventually, I came to Leisnig. So, here was my winner. But to be certain, I went through the entire list. Though there were Wappen with black diamonds, they were more related to something like a shire or county and were also newly awarded by the West German Gov't. Whereas Leisnig's Wappen comes from the 16th Century, Other German schemes come from national flags, and some even from the colors of cavalry and infantry regiments. And many were to carry the four squares associated with aircraft observers. Now... it is entirely possible that I am wrong. But it will have to do. I like my builds to be somewhat unique. Thanks for reading!
  5. I hope they pay well for the headaches!
  6. Still fiddling with this thing...
  7. I don't know how many of you are on Facebook. I belong to a group called Wingnut Wings Fans. Quite often, Someone will ask for a kit. They always get some kind of response from somebody willing to sell. (all by PM of course) I don't know any of the deals struck. But I haven't seen any complaints, though. I want a Pfalz D.IIIa. But I'm still on the fence about trading away one of my two seaters. I keep hoping that another company from China will release something else.
  8. So Hubert, what else for ships was there available? I think 1/700 is way too small for my enjoyment, but 1/200 too big for larger vessels. What was in that scale area before 1/350 came about? Gaz
  9. Ice my brother. Get an ice pack on it... And something cold to drink.
  10. Boo hoo... Almost 10AM and my old lady is still in bed.
  11. Yessir, I did. Today was decals and masking the tail markings.
  12. Thank you, Sluggo! Your hound looks pretty awesome. More masking.... Ready for decals, now.
  13. She looks awesome, Harv! You've really taken the weathering to a great place.

Bloody everything's getting cancelled this year. We'll be supremely lucky to have an NFL season. They're cancelling everything as Covid shows up everywhere....Tennis.... Golf....
  15. Thanks... and in need of touch up after I finish the STBD side.
  16. Man... you guys gotta quit putting up pictures of meat on the grill.... It's near bed time and my appetite just said: "Hey!" Anyway.... masking...Masking....Masking... The WNW decals are white-backed.... so, the overspray won't show through. Happy modelling!
  17. I pre-ordered one today.
  18. WNW Fokker continues: The lower wing is dry-fitted to enure that the stars all aligned....something something.... this is the dawning of the age of Aquarius.....
  19. I as given a voucher for the LHS back in March for my birthday. Got some Tamiya paint, and this: I know it's an oldie. But the crew makes it twice as interesting as one without.
  20. I feel same. The attention to detail is peerless. Honestly, I don;t understand how you can work on some of the things that are so small. Totally impressed! GAz
  21. My second guess is Marilyn Monroe.
