What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)
BlrwestSiR replied to Martinnfb's topic in Modelling Discussion
Scott, how quiet is it? I'm looking to replace my current compressor which isn't too bad but underpowered. I can get the California Air Tools one which says it's the same 60dB as the one you bought. Just want to get an idea how quiet it is. Carl -

Thanks Rob and Peter. I'll try to get some more pics shortly. Meantime, after using it as a paint mule, I couldn't stop and ended up building the Keaton Batmobile. -
I gave it a spray tonight. The oder is very negligible. It smells a bit like Tamiya X20A which I used to thin it. I used a 50/50 mix. It sprays very nice. Here's the black on what else, the Batmobile. It dries quickly too. I tried the grey as well. This is on Front Mission mech. It's not completely solid as I was just mucking about but again, it goes on nice and smooth. I'll definitely be picking up the thicker Mr Surfacer 500 to see how that works.

The braided ignition cable looks great. How is it attached to the harness/housing? Carl -
"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!!!" Or something like that.

Doubt it. It's still not a pretty plane.

Tamiyablog posted a build video of the new F-35. The engineering is truly impressive as they put the kit' major components together without glue. My resolve is weakening.

Sounds like a nice trip. Except for the uninvited passenger. Get better soon, Carl

They had a Mr Surfacer 500 too but I only bought the 1000 which is much thinner. I'll grab the 500 next time and let you know.

It may have but i was distracted by the Border Lanc kit they had. No, that didn't follow me home.

I had to stop by the LHS as my son is attending a classmate's birthday party tomorrow. He wanted to get him a tank model so I picked up one of those WWToons Panzer III. A Gundam may followed me home as well. More interesting was the new Mr Surfacer. One of the guys at the shop has been using it and says it goes on smooth like a baby bottom. You use regular Tamiya X20A thinner instead of lacquer thinner so I'll find out soon enough.

Border Models Lancaster B.1 "Victorious Virgin"

Finally saw this kit in the wild. My LHS has one in stock. I really thought the box would be bigger but it explains why so many are coming with cracked canopies. -

Unless it's Pearl Harbor. What a travesty. -

Looks good. -
Then Martin would need a 1/35 A-1H!

Anyone got a 1/35 Putin figure?

A few years ago, there was a post about a family trying to sell off a model collection of approximately 10,000 kits. They posted a link with pics of the entire collection and asked for offers on it as a single lot. I know at least one guy on LSP who made an offer on it. My LHS ended up buying it. After a cursory sort where they donated all the kits that weren't salable, they put the rest into storage. They're now bringing it into the shop as they have the space. There's at least 3 Echelon Lightning kits in there. I'm hoping to get a chance to pick one up. As for my stash, at the moment my boys are building models so I hope they would keep it and build what's left. Carl

I need that nose ring ..

Here's the listing for the Miniart Panzer IV kit. The kit has a full interior and it looks like most of the parts have paint colours assigned. That might help you out a bit more. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/miniart-35305-pzkpfwiv-ausf-h-vomag-mid-prod-july-1943--1395243 Carl

Scott, looks good. I always have a hard time getting good coverage with white, especially if it's gloss. -

Peter, I know how you feel. The frustration of thinking you're almost across the finish line and then to hit the biggest speed bump. Taking a break sounds like a good idea. The bench will be there. Hopefully without a mojo killer on it. Carl -

I haven't seen the Future silver but have the current one (just called silver) and it's much glossier. 😄 -
Gunze makes several markers for model use. They're called Gundam Markers and come in various widths and colours. Tamiya used to have some.but I haven't seen them in a long time.
