  1. I actually way more Spitfires but the Corsair is my favourite prop plane.
  2. Some great progress there.
  3. I bought the recent Meng Dune Ornithopter kit, put it into the stash. Then when the Sandbox GB started, I figured I'd build that except... ...I couldn't find the kit. I looked under the bench (the usual repository for new kits), the shelves where most of my stash lives. Nope, Nada. I debated buying another one. At this point, I thought to was time to sort and reorganize the stash. I finally found the kit on a completely different shelf behind other kits. How it got there I have no idea. At least things are better sorted now. I only have 2 kits in the way of others and that's because they're too big to fit a shelf themselves.
  4. Congrats on full retirement Hubert. It's also great to hear your business went to someone deserving and who will respect it. Your work on the Potez is superlative. Great to see it coming together as planned.
  5. The photos really highlight just how big these dioramas you have created are.
  6. Wow, that went together nicely. And quick too.
  7. Hopefully you get into a rhythm building the tracks.
  8. Okay, for some reason Scott's build stuck in my head. So after getting home from the local bar tonight I decided to see if I could knock out a build in a single sitting. So here's the victim. Note the time in the corner. Painted the interior bits. Started on assembly. Assembled completed. Painted the exterior, a simple panel line wash and done! No decals or stickers certainly helped make it work.
  9. That's like Ueno Clinic which sponsored the winning '95 LeMans McLaren. They're a Japanese beauty salon I believe. Or Jacadi, a French children's clothing company. I only learned what they were after we had our boys.
  10. I think I saw one of those the other day. Actually it was a raccoon but man, it was round!!!!
  11. I stopped by the LHS today. They're having a Black Friday sale all weekend. It seems the Canadian ban on Tamiya aerosol cans has been expanded a bit. All Tamiya spray cans (paints and primers) were subject to a ban recently due to issues most likely with a chemical either in the paint or propellant. Stores were (still are) allowed to sell what was in stock but wouldn't get restocks. Now they've been told that any remaining stock after Dec 31 has to be returned to the importer. As well, Tamiya Lacquer thinner, Metal Primer, and their enamel gold paint(the only bottled paint) have been added to the list. So I grabbed a few bottles of thinner just in case. The Lacquer thinner with retarder (Tamiya's version of Mr Color Leveling Thinner) is not part of the recall. The new F-35C arrived. I wasn't going to get one but it was on sale and finished off the trifecta of F-35 variants. I need an LS engine for a Land Rover build and resin ones aren't cheap so this Corvette has become a donor. I guess I could build the Vette with the hood shut Lastly, no buys like the Zvezda 1/100 tank kits. Way too tiny for me. For 1/2 price I grabbed them a few for stocking stuffers or just random gifts to them.
  12. You're getting quite the collection of MFH kits there Rob. That Brabham is a bit different that's for sure. It looks more like an Indy car than F1.
  13. It was an enjoyable build. Once you figure out the errors in the instructions. I've got another in the stash to get to one day. Carl
  14. For the non- meat eaters amongst us, Happy Tofu-Tofu!!! Not sure it has the same ring to it.
  15. Happy Gobble Gobble!
  16. Martin, I agree. Definitely hope it's a reasonable price.
  17. Takom has just announced a pair of Horton 229 kits in 1/32. The first is an A and the second is a B. I'll be interested in the B since the ZM B conversion was a bit lacking.
  18. Wow, what an awesome collection of AM for your build. Can't wait to see what else you've got for this.
  19. I can't believe that's 1/48. It looks stunning. I keep coming back to the wicker seat for some reason. Plus the fuselage wood graining is impressive too. Carl
  20. I've been wearing corrective eyewear since I was 3 1/2. On top of myopia, I have a bad astigmatism so my prescription is -13 Power for my right eye and -14 for my left. I had ICL surgery about 6 years ago and that was amazing. I should really looking into something like an Optivisor. Readers have worked for me at the bench but I don't tend to get detailed with the painting like some members do.
  21. Paul, that's a rule that is easily broken. The Willy's is supposed to be a very nice kit.
  22. Some really exceptional work there Hubert. I don't know any of you thread those turnbuckles. Just the thought of it makes my eyes hurt. I guess we'll have to add zoologist to your many titles. Carl
  23. That's a big tank kit. The new sprockets are a huge improvement. At least the tracks won't look odd trying to wrap around it.
  24. Looks great there Dave. I like the full set of 30 Years markings. The last 1/48 F-4 I built was the Hasegawa F-4E with the same markings 30 years ago so I might biased.
  25. I've heard of using diluted white or PVA glue as a primer. Put a thin coat on and when dry, paint with acrylics. There's an aqueous Mr Surfacer now. Maybe that would work?
