  1. I've heard two figures. One said 1894 and the other said 1910. The clearance under the beam is about 5'5. To the joists, it varies as the house slopes. It's almost 6' at the front and about 5'8 at the rear.
  2. Gaz ,I would love a window too but the basement is a huge upgrade from our last place. We were in a condo so the only place I could build was sitting in the hallway with a box on my lap. Did that for two years. As a result, I pretty much just built armour since it's just one colour and I could paint it easily enough with a brush. Whenever I'm at work helping to stage a house for sale, I look around and see where I could put a bench and have a window if we were to buy that house. One way to live vicariously
  3. The more space to clutter it up with. It's just over 6 ft long. My sons are set up at one end of it (the right side of the pic) and I'm on the left where all the organizers are. I just finished clearing it off and took it down. It's been moved to the front of the basement instead of being in the middle where it was. I have to build some utility shelves next which will back onto the new shelve I put up for the stash.
  4. I figured I'd might as well clear up the bench a bit while I continue to work on the basement. Finally got some time to do that today. You can actually see a bit of the bench top now. Lots more to do before I can move it.
  5. Oh man, that's a heart breaker. I hate those mixed results from the same product. It's like rolling the dice every time you use them. Hopefully the decals you have aren't too much of a change to the paint scheme.
  6. Sue and I both got the AZ jab back on April 24th. It was the only option available for those not considered high risk at the time here in Ontario. The next day Sue was wiped out with fatigue and a general flu like feeling. It lasted until the following day. I didn't have any side effects nor did a friend's wife who got the shot at the same time we did. He however, was like Sue though and was off his feet for a day and a bit. There have a number of confirmed deaths from side effects of the AZ shot here in Canada and so far they're in the single digits. It's enough that Ontario is no longer administering AZ shots. The current supply is being used for those whose initial jab was AZ until it's used up on their second dose. At that point, those who haven't had their second will be getting one of the other vaccines.
  7. I believe Mr Color makes some as C328. However, I don't know if there is a difference in the shade from earlier Blue Angels blue to the modern one. Carl
  8. Sounds like my playbook.
  9. That's great. So often those of us in America's attic get bent over when it comes time to pay for shipping. Carl
  10. Nice start Mark. That's going to be a lot of rivets. Carl
  11. Rob, the AK Real Colors are solvent based. They do have an odour to them but I don't think it's as strong as Mr Color. As Kai said, they can be thinned with Mr Color Leveling thinner without issue. Generally, their armour colours (clear lids) are dead flat while their aircraft (black lids) range has a satin finish.
  12. My sister wass driving with the dog in the back, she looked in the rear view mirror and saw her dog take the belt in her mouth and just bite through it . She couldn't believe how fast it happened. When she went to the dealer to ask for a replacement, they were confused. They'd never had to replace one before. This is her on the right. My dog is on the left with my parents' dog in the middle.
  13. My current dog wasn't a chewer. I still have all the stuffies she had as a puppy and they even have their content tags still on them. My sisters have had chewing monsters though. Between the two of them( one a Doberman/Shepard mix, the other a lab) they've detroyed - closet full of shoes - Subaru rear shoulder belt (most expensive chew toy yet) - solid wood school chair - too many leashes to count
  14. Speaking of @Martinnfb's dog, the Beaufighter arrived earlier this week. Just haven't had a chance to unpack it. I'm going to wait until I have a bench to clutter up.
  15. Lots of chewing. Oh wait, I thought we were talking about Martin's dog.
  16. Nice! I've got the Glaug too and the 1/48 YF-19. I did mine as a VF -19A in the Roy Focker scheme. As for the 1/32 cars, hopefully they changed the tires. I have a couple and they came with incredibly skinny tires. More like for a Model T than a more modern rubber. Otherwise they're fairly nice.
  17. Hasegawa was apparently one of the larger creditors who lost money when Hobbico declared bankruptcy. As a result they may not have the capital to invest in newer kits except ones they know will sell. Hence re-pops and stuff aimed at the Japanese market.
  18. Just found that Kotobukiya is going to be coming out with a CFA-44 Nosferatu! Although a bit small in 1/144, it'll fit in nicely with my MiG-31 Firefox and F-15J Kai
  19. Lol! That's actually about 5 ft from my bench. And it's cans which our older cat gets excited when she hears them opened.
  20. That looks to be a nice kit Rob. Carl
  21. Mark, where do you keep finding all these MFH kits at such great prices???? Truly makes me jealous. Carl
  22. Rob, it's usually not this bad. Honest! Just with having to take down some of the shelves and move things my bench became the convenient place for things. So hopefully it will be back to a more normal state of chaos soon. As for my decal tweezers, that's easy. They're just to the left of the He219 wing behind the Mr Surfacer 500.
  23. Here's a couple pics of the parts. The panel lines are very fine, comparable to Hasegawa or maybe Eduard on their 1/48 Spitfire kits. The plastic is like Hasegawa's too. On the harder side, not soft. You know it's detailed when the ejection seat takes two pages...
  24. Phil, I would but there's the small issue of my bench looking like this: I couldn't even open the kit to look at it. I had to do that on top of the freezer. Hopefully this weekend I can get more of the basement reno done and start sorting things. Plus I'm going to be working a couple jobs over the next few days. I've got the regular one during the day and I've been asked to paint a condo in the evenings.
