  1. OK moving along the LG's are in place, antenna and pitot tube which I made out of two different diameters of brass definitely looks more to scale.I had to drill out the locations for 20mm up to make them slow was the game.I am going to repaint part of the nose tonight to make it all blend properly. The props I did as planned drilled the spinner and the blades insert .015 guitar wire and put them together.Shes coming together and actually looking better than I thought it would let's hope no mishaps before the finish line.
  2. That's a Nice finish on that white John should look good when done.
  3. Not that night the way it was going Pete felt like somebody let the dogs out after me.I have some work this morning on the WhirlWind it's going rathr well thus far today.I made the pitot tube that attaches to the the top of the tail out of two different pieces of brass looks much more to scale,The LG's are ready to be positioned in the WW's test fit looks good and the props are painted. The props I am going to insert .015" wire drill the nacelle nose and insert just do not feel good with simple glue somewhere when moving one will break off.The plane is very close to it's finish line I am amazed that the WS is about 11.25" for a fighter in 1/48 that's pretty significant.I always said Peter when you were working yours by SH that thing looks big but maybe it's the fuselage to wing illusion coming into play?
  4. That response was a bit much Guy let's just I've been there.
  5. Thanks Gus but no doc visit for me feels like I was in a light bar fight just sore for sure no rest for the weary "Crusine'in the Coast" week the busiest week of the year for us https://cruisinthecoast.com/
  6. Yeah Guy it's a standard forgot to put in gear just got in from the store and hands had bags of groceries other wise I could grab the wheel and pull myself back in.The r/leg was still inside the truck in what felt like a half flip definitely bruised a frigg'in rib.
  7. That's neat Guy my father served over there with the 92nd BG went on less than five missions was assigned to command HQ duties as the main radio operator on the base.I had a nice tumble tonight parked the truck incline opened the door and wa-la I stepped out and it started rolling.I tied to brake just to damn fast ran over my own L/ankle when the door passed me it flipped me over and the following impact two knuckles on the R/hand impacted concrete.I tried to catch the front bumper but said F'it it stopped about 12' in my neighbors yard across the street. My right calf is sore as well as the middle of the right side of the back from the flip.I unlock the door and the F'in key jams in the lock I go "aw F me" I am bleeding and wore out some serious little demons out tonight. I took 600mg Ibuprofen now all I need is a good Scotch!!!!!
  8. Well the decals were glossed and then flatten with Testors flat took quite a few coats. The LG's are built just a little whittling looks to be in order to fit already tested on one leg.To be honest starting to get a little bored with the build but need to finish and move on.
  9. That's about the right price they had about 40sheets a few weeks ago was not moving fast and some smaller ones.
  10. I have a 4' Gato sub took a lot of paint did it by spray cans colors I thought was close. The ship I will spray right there in the room low presser may take an hour or two.I use a mix of tapes for good curves Tamy everything else mainly green painter tape lower stick yellow is even yes we sell a bit in the auto industry.
  11. Decal-ed Walters still doing it's work and a pic of the layout from today's efforts Peter.
  12. I need to get over and pick it up but our Hobby Lobby moved and did not reuse all the glass and have 4'X 22"(?) for $17.
  13. I thought I have checked but thought 22/23" depth was big enough for a 1/32 B-17 but not sure about that lanc and that's housing it at an angle.I think a tower concept may be of interest if you plan on building more of the heavies less space in the long run also.
  14. I have been contemplating the start of another floor cabinet of the same design as the first. The big wall cabinet @92'LX22'DX48'H was running out of room for the 1/32 which was my original intent for the cabinet but 1/48's had invaded again lack of storage. The other thing nagging me was the "ScharnHorst" @1/200 scale the hull is roughly 38/39" in length and just were do I keep that beast while building it?I needed to create a 4' gap on the wall in the HR.I was going to ditch one of the old floor cabinets then started realizing that building another floor cabinet with all the other wood work on the other side it's mine it's last!I started looking at the ole floor cabinet and said that might just fit underneath!!lol and behold it's the same height could not plan that better.I cleaned and moved about 15/20 planes to make 1/32 space and wa-la the platform for the beast is set easy-peasy.I also got all those kits off the floor moved into the house and cleaned and organized my upper closet for that to happen and yes Momma was not home Scott stuff was moving.
  15. Thanks Peter clear coated now waiting for this evening for decals.I am rearranging the office ATTM have an idea for a new 4' table wall mounted ........1/200 ScharnHorst home for the next 1/2 years.
  16. Some Color... while the box top looks blue the color callout was RAF Ocean Grey and that's what she got
  17. She came real Nice John the colors have a nice blend.
  18. I have some decals for the Italian Birds when I get around to mine yours came out very Nice.
  19. Now not in the model part of the shop but the woodworking side .....my neighbor wants me to get this tube radio going?? I told this will be my first rodeo so give it time he listened to this radio in the 50's as a child.
  20. I know Trumpeter kits are not perfect but I think what you have looks quite convincing/realistic.I built the G-2 and liked the kit no major setbacks but I try to build to what is aesthetic to the eye but then my builds get seen by few outside of the shop.
  21. Thanks John and plan doing just that John.I think in the end she will still make a Nice representation of the WhirlWind.
