Paint ...mask ....paint ...mask.....then pull all the mask off and hope . Still prefer it to decals . Colours somewhat mixed by eye/ Tamiyas recommendations mostly . Mottling is a lil heavy but might gently rub it back when fully dry ....I've seen thats a good tip 😁 Then some other stuffs , weathering blah blah . . Also some links to WW2 films about flying the Mursu and it's aces . I've a big soft spot for Finn's ...no one pushes them around ....ever . Interviews with Aces 1944 Interviews

As the cow says ......Moovin on ... This kit literally has no gaps , barely enough space to leach in a little extra thin Little Cute masks for the canopy come in the box. Clever ideas on the use of clear plastic for upper fuse as well as the canopy to make that joint painless. IP is weenie , and no decals which I thought odd given all the other good stuff. TBH it won't be easily seen later And here we are ready for paint ...so soon ! In case you wonder............no TV , zero interest in sport , grown up kids living miles away , wife who works long hours , me work from home = lots of hours for glueing stuff

British colors Extra dark sea gray and Sky
PanzerWomble replied to ScottsGT's topic in Modelling Discussion
XF21 is my choice for Sky ....and EDSG is often XF-24 , although the darker colours faded quickly on the deck of a carrier so there is some liscense -
Sure it's not another Amazon nonsense ..? Cheap junk from China + invading your privacy .

Cheers Buddy ....mmmm ...so whats next for this tank is some pix and a trip to eBay ....and for my quiet weekend ...well I'm off to do one of your fave subjects so will need your guidance -
Okey dokey. Wanted to do a 109G, considered the Eduard ( I think their stuff is ok ) ......Hasegawa .....old tool so went of the new in 2017 Tamiya tooling . And it fits like a glove , the engineering is exquisite. No clean up no filler ...nada . I know little about this aircraft , having only built Trumpies 1/32 E a few years back . Considering a Finnish frame ....they called them "Mersu"after the engoine , and the knocked a lot of Soviets down . Last one retired in 1954 ! Ze box contents , mask , 3 sets of decals, full engine and a lot of options . This 1/48 ...

Nice one John . The paint job is great , can I ask if you masked or used decals for the black walkways ? -
Old school Avalon Hill "bookcase" wargames , Panzer Leader dates from the 1970's , Squad Leader was one of the most lauded games from the early 1980's although became almost unplayable in later versions due to the complexity . Folding "geomorphic" map board, counters galore , rules for virtually everything . Never got D&D as a kid , it was all about war 😆 Personally play Panzer Leader occasionally as can't remember half of the game structure of SL . Also , I might have custom mapped out a lot of the Ardennes to be able recreate all of Kampfgruppe Peipers attack during the Battle of the Bulge complete with game TOE's ....🤫 just a lil obsessed . It's odd to later drive along roads and terrain you've mapped out ! A link to one of the better Panzer Leader websites here ...I used to chat to Greg Moore though fear he might not be with us anymore.

hehehe .....I've "lawn darted" a few aircraft in my time as well 🤣 Straight out through the patio doors of doom. The ICM HS 126 last year didn't even get as far as wing attachment ...grrrrrr -

Thank you although I think thats a lil harsh for my money . Agreed Tamiaya detail is softer , they have less parts, and often the tracks date them ,but I reckon a lot can still build up well as the dimensions are good , even this old chonker of a Cheiftain . I built a recent tooling Tamiya Pz II and their PzIII , IMHO they were pretty good. I've also built the Meng, Hobbyboss and Tamiya Kingtiger .....like to guess which one this is ? 😂 -
This too

I'll go Bates Motel for that GB please, I'll just need a 1/35 Janet Leigh , I can scratch up a shower curtain and knife I'm sure. -
Bit of a clear my shelf / too many nicer Chieftains to build . Very simple kit from 1975- even with the mods it's only a couple of fat evenings to build ( this might be the fifth one I've built now? ) Not entirely happy with the cammo net which looks too flat in the pix , may revisit it later. PanzerWomble replied to PanzerWomble's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Pinwashed with oils. Decided to use pastels for final finishing , very Tony Greenland circa 1995 ... As a bit of fun worked out ok , although given the better moulding around this is probably the last of one of Tamiya's I will bother with . Cammo netting looks ok in the flesh not so good in the photos so might have a another crack at it later . And technically aa 5 day build , although more like an afternoon and two fat evenings ! -

Righty ho, daughter come and gone , furniture moved 200 miles and back to the build . Roooober tracks sprayed in varying shades of dark & light brown and hull red . Then track pads done with Vellejo German Grey ## Some brush details of tyres 'n other parts and a mish mash of decals. Next up Oil Pin wash
