  1. The colour match on the tanks looks spot on there Rob. I've seen the yellow one that's coming soon and it does look tempting but I'm not sure I could cope with so many decals.
  2. Back in Black! 🎸 All primed and ready for paint. Mr Surfacer 1500 with Mr Levelling, always gives a good result and hard as nails. Going to paint the rotors first as I'm waiting for a new bottle of khaki drab, old one had dried up.
  3. Never built a boat kit other than a Revell tug my daughter did years ago but some of these 72nd scale fast patrol boats do look tempting.
  4. Looks great to run there Mark. I'm lucky here too, as within 500 metres I can be out in the fields and away from civilisation. Much more fun than slogging round the streets all the time.
  5. Those walkway markings don't show a lot of faith in the ground crew to keep their feet where they should be.
  6. Hope you didn't use Tamiya tape for that job. Would cost more than the paint!
  7. We used to use a liquid scintillation cocktail at work that was mainly Xylene and it was horrible to work with. Penetrated latex gloves in around 1 second, so spilling it was definitely not advised. Also has a flash point of 25 C so flame proof cupboards, etc also needed. Everyone was heartily glad when the test it was used for was retired.
  8. Tamiya's Titanium Gold is pretty nasty as well. Only Tamiya colour I've ever had just gum up the airbrush completely. Pigment just doesn't seem to distribute through the carrier evenly and reacts with Mr Levelling.
  9. Looks like someone knows they're in the doghouse! 😁
  10. Those stencils are stunning. Will definitely have to check those out for any future builds where they make a set.
  11. Bit more progress on the Huey, about ready for primer. Fit of the cockpit pod into the fuselage halves was a bit of a pain. Even after a lot of sanding it still needed some styrene strip to fill the gap. Top surface is fine, so once it's sat in the display case it'll all be good.
  12. Nice collection of Ukrainian goodies there Carl. Don't let Vladimir know....
  13. Very nice build, especially given the small size. 👍
  14. Sky's Decals did a set, SD-39 F-16C/D Barak, which I used on mine but I think they can be quite hard to find now. Mainly useful for the codes and tail insignia as I used masks for the magen david. I still have most of the set left if that's of any use to you?
  15. The Typhoon has a bit of that approach with the wings, etc but this seems to take it even further. My only concern is the quality of the plastic and the moulding flash. The Typhoon plastic was very soft and 'soapy' feeling and the mould alignment was poor on many pieces, especially the cockpit tubing which made it a pita to clean up.
  16. Great progress Tom. Don't envy you trying to manoeuvre that in the paint booth.
  17. Ooh, l can see a shelf in my cabinet with a Beau and an Me410 side by side. 😁
  18. The bit at 5:45 is astonishing. If that guy stuck his hand out the cockpit it looks like he could grab the end of the wing pylon on the next jet!
  19. Congratulations Martin. Hope you enjoy it and get a lot of use out of it. Thanks again to Hubert for such a great donation and agreeing to the redraw.
  20. Don't know how soft the material is Gaz, but would attacking the smooth bits with the pointed scribing tool have the desired effect?
  21. Hi Phil, I got my Tamiya polishing compounds from Wonderland models in Edinburgh a few years back. Don't know if they still have them though as I've never bought from them online, only in person when I've been passing.
  22. The Trumpeter Wimpy is actually a nice kit Gaz. Definitely one of their A-team jobs. Just wish someone would do one in 1/32 scale.
  23. Looks good then Alan. You'd be stuffed down here in the Mearns where all we've got is real red clay!
  24. Hope you feel better soon Ernie. Thankfully I've avoided it so far, as have all the family other than my daughters boyfriend, but my department at our hospital is running with a 45% vacancy rate between testing positive and isolating as close contacts. Basically at the moment here if you have school age kids you're screwed!
