Very sad. It's not been a good month so far with this following Neil Peart. Two brilliant polymaths both gone to brain diseases! Life throws up some real shitty ironies sometimes! Farewell Mr Creosote

I'll be watching with interest Phil having just got this from Ernie in the raffle. Same as yourself, it's my first WNW kit so I'm looking forward to seeing how you tackle it. -
Just arrived today courtesy Ernie and the Christmas Raffle. First WNW kit I've had and after a quick look I see why everyone raves about the quality. I think I'm going to practice rigging on my old paint mule before I risk butchering this!

Thanks Dale. I'll see what I can find and I may be back in touch.

Thanks Dale, that's very useful.

Thanks guys.

Those sanding sticks look really interesting Dale. Is that the only range of sizes available or do they do different combinations? Thanks, Gus

Trumpeter A7E - Hellenic AF

Weird experience last night!?! I have a Pinterest account which I rarely use but which I do use to store reference photos for builds. I went on last night and one of the recommendations as I'd been looking at Greek aircraft was a photo of my own build lifted from this site! Very disconcerting!!! The interweb can be a very odd place. -

Stunning work on something so fragile Rick. Hope you have somewhere safe to display it. -
Got these as part of my Christmas from the kids and it got me thinking in a couple of ways. I always try to learn a new technique with every build and I've also been contemplating what Hubert, Ernie and others have been saying about only building things with camouflage. Also, some really inspiring builds that Micha (elmarriachi) posted on here about a year ago. SO...... I got this and my CHET build is going to take a sharp left turn. Instead of a Greek military one carrying the Meng AMX-30 it's going to be a beaten up, rusty civilianised one carrying a nice dusty, dirty digger! Best thing is it's all out of my head so I can't pressurise myself on getting it to exactly match a particular reference or picture. I'm hoping to have some fun with it anyway.

MiG 21 is 61 years in service. Thoughts on the MiG 21?

Iconic and in some ways it still out performs it's successors. However, it's had it's day now. Always felt it looked like the bastard offspring of a Starfighter and an EE Lightning! -
That's a hoot Jeff. Good to see Dusty Hill from ZZ Top is still working too!!

The quality of all the painting is astounding but the figures are just the best I have ever seen. -
Lovely work Danny. It certainly looks a darn sight better than the Trumpeter 1/32 scale 21.

What do you consider is the meanest tank in history?

Very sad to hear that. Far too young.

Happy New Year to all. Hope ye survived Hogmanay with livers intact!

Hi Phil, I've used Ammo acrylics for my last few builds and I can't say I've had any problems with clogging with the Evolution. I do tend to use them pretty thin as I've used black-basing with all of them. Only full strip down I've had to do was after trying to airbrush Tamiya titanium gold which I found thins like crap and left all the pigment in the bottom!
-
Hi Phil The Harder and Steenbeck Evolution 2 in 1 is also a good buy but I'm not sure how it compares price wise with the Ultra. You do occasionally see good deals on them on eBay - I got mine from a shop specialising in nail products!

Looks like the 2000 is available (at last)

I hope they get the D out soon as I was planning on holding out for the 2 seater but I'm not sure I'll make it if they take too long.
