  1. Looks good to my eye Carl. Big enough to get a good grip of the base without the risk of damaging the models with random sleeves, arms, etc.
  2. Hi Gaz Yeah, my H&S Evolution has a trigger limit as well but it's just having the trust in my own abilities. It's just a confidence thing as I've always swayed away from anything too risky like that. Each new build though I try and push myself to bring in a new technique or skill. I'll get there...
  3. Very nice Gaz. Never had the confidence to try something like that. Just imaging getting a big blob if you hit the airbrush trigger too hard.
  4. Exquisite stuff Tom. This will have real presence when it's done. In fact, I'm sure I've sat in smaller kayaks!
  5. Too true Ernie! Didn't realise you'd an Antiques Roadshow programme over in the US as well. Not really a show I watched here but my parents were obsessed by it. I think mainly to see if anything looked like some of the old crap they had, to see if they could cash in!
  6. Have a great day Harv. Hope you can share it with the family in some way!
  7. Nice pics Ernie. Very Art Deco! As you say I can't imagine they lasted long like that before becoming a bit more 'functional'!
  8. Nice job on the camo Gaz. That could be the warm-up for a C.202 Folgore if you want to get adventurous!
  9. Great choice of 43 squadron Cees. The Fighting Cocks were stationed at Leuchars in the 70s when I grew up just across the river and my uncle was stationed there. Saw the aircraft from 43 & 111 squadrons on a daily basis. I really hope HKM do release their promised kit as I'd love to build one but I don't have the skill set to follow your example.
  10. That's a very cool blue scheme Hubert.
  11. Ooh, looking forward to seeing this progress.
  12. He he Rob. Should be able to count to 5 having that many phingers!

    Big Day

All the best Harv. Wishing you a quick and successful recovery.
  14. Looking great Cees. As long as the 'ph' words aren't the 4 letter ones you should be good! I do like Tamiya's screw-in cockpits - as you say they give a nice clean fit and remove alignment issues.
  15. Looking great Rowdy. I'd be tempted to stop there as weathering and insignia, etc will probably knock back the contrast to give a realistic end result. I often tend to go 'one too many' in these situations, so I've been trying to stop myself.
  16. Thanks for clarifying that James. Happy to contribute on that basis and sincere thanks for supporting the costs to date. This place is an oasis of friendship and sanity, especially at the moment!
  17. Very nice review Jeroen and it looks like a great product. Personally I don't have any enthusiasm for the 'what if' idea, but for those that do, there are certainly lots of high quality products hitting the market.

    My Non-LSM

Wow, not sure what's more impressive, the modelling or woodworking skills!
  19. Lookin' good Phil
  20. Beautiful work. And, at last, we'll have someone else on here who can complete with Jeroen to see who can leave the most parts of a build and still get a stunning outcome!
  21. Ha ha, too true. My own bike has lasted for years but it does feel like it's made out of scaffolding poles!
  22. I'll bet the Vulcan needs a bit more than $12 worth of plastic with those wings! The result will be super cool though. If you could get a Victor and Valiant as well......
  23. Yeah, very true Ernie. Vancouver to Montreal is about ~4500 km which from Leuchars, where I used to watch the Lightnings, would put you about 500 km EAST of Moscow! Definitely not where you'd want to be back in the 70s.
  24. Friend of mine's eldest daughter lives in Winnipeg and just bought herself a new fat bike in preparation for winter. Hadn't realised you Canuks weren't allowed to ride the trails in winter on a standard bike, hence the craze for fat bikes. The crappy wet snow we get over here would be useless for that unless you fancy breaking your neck.
  25. Lightning wasn't renowned for range either but it was mighty impressive to watch when they pointed them straight up and opened the throttles up to the stops!
