This build is essentially OOB except for the cockpit, seat and armor plate. I also used Quickboost props which needed some thinning of their width to be "right". As they were they were more like T-28 props. Painted with Alclad Dark Aluminum, Alclad Stainless Steel, Testor's Zinc Chromate and Testor's Blue (which happened to match the decals through blind luck!). The decals are kit decals and went on VERY well. Nice and thin as opposed to some of their earlier decals. I enjoyed this build and I hope you guys like it also. :) Click on the 1st photo for best resolution and to view as a slide show.

Very nice build John.  Outstanding (as usual for you, LOL).

And the John B building machine rolls on.

John, the build is great but the fact that it looks like all your other builds I think is a better comment.

Meaning your quality is consistent and it looks like the same guy built them!

Thanks Ryan. I guess that's a good thing then. :)

John, another crisp and clean build. The quality of the finish is something to behold. I look at my 51 on the shelf and makes my NMF look like it was flung on from a cannon. Seeing your build has resolved me into finishing the 51…..what’s next……

Thank you Phil. I'm pleased you like the results of my efforts. :) I look forward to seeing your finished '51! Next up, unless I decide otherwise, is a Czech Master F-80C. :)

Gorgeous work my friend, good information on those kit decals! Now I won't be afraid to use the kit markings on mine.

Curious as to why you used the Quickboost propeller instead of the kit supplied version?

Thanks Frank. I used the Quick Boost prop because I had used the kit prop on one of my air racer builds. :)

Ahhh... okay!  I was hoping it was something like that instead of an issue with the kit prop.

LOL The QB prop needed some trimming to be "right" although it was supposed to be correct for the '51. It looked more like a T-28 prop than a P-51 prop. 🤪

Keep 'em comin

Thank you Peter. I really like how this one turned out. :)Too bad the real a/c was lost along with the pilot due to AA fire. ☹️
