Given the cost of good figures...   These Tamiya kits are a steal.  Buying eight nice figures could easily cost more than these two kits together.   Link und length tracks...  poly caps...   What more could you ask for.

Yes...  Plaza Japan gives you a little 'thank you' gift.  I'll give it to my granddaughter if I remember before it disappears.

Indeed! Who could ask more? The panzer IV ausf g is one of the kits I'm interested in having recently purchased the G. I haven't bought from plaza before, how are they?

From Royal Model came this spray masking stencil for doing tank wheels.

It's marked No. 048 and it comes with a guide on the packaging on which numbered

circles can be used for various listed tanks. This, with a similar set of circle stencils

I purchased earlier by Tamiya will be useful. I've already found circles that I can use on

the Valentine kit I'm currently working on.

They are pretty quick...   and even packed newspaper around the models....  An added surprise.  Prices are lower than I can get from BNA or other shops in Australia.

Thanks, I'll check them out. I just placed an order with Hobby Easy again. I'm waiting

for their "payment request" email to complete the purchase. Last time it took about a week to get my Hetzer from them.

Another Tamiya model came today; this time their Israeli Tank M51.(35323)

These were modified cast hull M4A1 Shemans up-gunned with a shortened version

of the 105mm gun from the French AMX-30 tank. These Shermans were also retrofitted

with the later HVSS suspension, and a new Cummins diesel engine. The kit is a 2012

release. It has 3 marking options; two in light sand from 1967 and one dating from 1973

in a grayish-buff color. The kit looks nice...... But has "rubber band" tracks......although,

honestly, they look pretty good. The cannon is molded in halves with a multi-piece

muzzle brake. I found that using fine steel wool to finish the seams on these types

Of barrels works very well by the way. The hull, turret,  and other parts have a very nice

cast texture.....looks good. I'm sure it will be an easy build.

I love big gunned Shermans! It's a nice kit. The rubber band tracks aren't that obvious and are decently detailed. The only part I found to be a bit lacking were the headlight guards. I swapped mine out. Here's the kit one with some I found in my spares box.

Looks nice! I see what you mean about the headlight guards. I'll see what aftermarket

options are available. According to the info in the kit the Israelis shortened the big French

Gun by a whopping 1.5 meters .....leading to reduced performance by the gun.

I couldn't wait any longer and finally pulled the trigger. Before ordering the P-40, I did a lot of research on the kit itself, colors and paints. The colors and paints are a complete quagmire ... way too many opinions and way too many assumptions online and the colors are NOT RAF Dark Green, Dark Brown and Gray underside. You cannot actually buy any of the three correct colors straight out of the bottle, with the old Model Master enamels being the closest. In the end, my final source: Dana Bell! I have a lot of charts as well.

It's a gorgeous kit Peter. I have it in the stash too. Eclipses the Trumpeter one in so many ways and really ups the bar. I'm hoping GWH does more 1/32 stuff.

Oh and they've just announced a Pearl Harbour version coming out around Christmas.

Gaz, it's a tossup and I had my heart set on doing the 109 first and then the P-40. See what happens

Heh….   I have interest in the P-40…. So I was hoping you could show it to us as you build.
