I had to stop by the LHS as my son is attending a classmate's birthday party tomorrow. He wanted to get him a tank model so I picked up one of those WWToons Panzer III.

A Gundam may followed me home as well.

More interesting was the new Mr Surfacer.

One of the guys at the shop has been using it and says it goes on smooth like a baby bottom. You use regular Tamiya X20A thinner instead of lacquer thinner so I'll find out soon enough.

Cool!  Please let us know if it solidifies faster.  One of the things I dislike about using it as a filler is waiting overnight for it to harden.

They had a Mr Surfacer 500 too but I only bought the 1000 which is much thinner. I'll grab the 500 next time and let you know.

I had to do it, these Tamiya kits have their own attraction in their near perfectness. I added Brassin wheels, Quinta interior details and Ammo belts from KitsWorld.
I will do a NMF P-51 with this and I really like Blondy from the box or Petie 2nd also provided.
How does the provided decals perform, has anybody used them?

Cheers Rob

I'm back from my Berlin trip and need some rest from my trip, phew, so many things to do, not a lot of sleep and lots of goods to buy.

Model wise, there was only little, as we already had 80kg's of luggage, but it was great to visit some of the still existing hobby shops.
I bought a Berlin related figure set in 35 scale from Scale 75 and a 1/72 set of resin figures for my possible Schnellboot S-38 entry for the 'wet' group build.
The 1/20 resin driver figures are for my McLaren MP4/2 (Alain Prost) and the second for a Lotus. Unfortunately the umbrella of the Lotus driver wasn't in the package.

Another thing, I imported unluckily was the plague. Yesterday a test confirmed, I got the big C and have symptoms of a mediocre flu, f***.

Cheers Rob

Ah, a slow roller am I and never watched Top Gear. I guess you can build him as I believe there is a Simpson helmet included. But there is also a classic 80ies helmet and an Alain Prost head included.

Cheers Rob

If you like cars, and can stand British humor...   then the old ones are worth seeing.

Nothing exciting today...........just paint.

Some Tamiya Acrylics. Some odd colors including hull red, sky, and cockpit green as

used on the French tank models I'll be building. I also bought flat black, buff and some

of Tamiya's excellent x-22 clear.  I forgot to buy khaki ! I'll have to order some this week.

As Gaz says, please let us know how it handles Carl, especially how it sprays. I love using the 1500 as a primer but it does stink and my wife does not approve, so if this is as good but a bit less noxious that would be a great find.

I gave it a spray tonight. The oder is very negligible. It smells a bit like Tamiya X20A which I used to thin it. I used a 50/50 mix.

It sprays very nice. Here's the black on what else, the Batmobile.

It dries quickly too.

I tried the grey as well. This is on Front Mission mech. It's not completely solid as I was just mucking about but again, it goes on nice and smooth.

I'll definitely be picking up the thicker Mr Surfacer 500 to see how that works.

Something a little different came today from Tower Hobbies.

Yes, It's a Tamiya kit, but not in 1/35 and not an armor subject.

It's their Honda Monkey-125 (14134) in 1/12 scale. I saw it while browsing

on Tower Hobbies; it was relatively cheap at $ 30.00 with my rewards discount,

and I thought it would make a fun project. It looks like a nice little kit.

Also from Master Model came a barrel set for my recently purchased Takom M3 Lee.

It's their, Model M3 Lee/Grant 75mm M2 L/31 Short & 37mm M6 gun Barrels (TAK kit)

(MASGM35030). Looks good.

Other items coming today; a metric miniature drill bit set and two bottles of

Tamiya acrylic paint....XF-49 (23ml) Khaki.
