Sure seems as if you're going all out on a few 48th scale Tomcats. I just finished the Tamiya F-14A and what a spectacular kit. 

Completely agree, Miss Molly is the pick of the litter and what a scheme for your Big Cat.

Saw these mentioned on Hyperscale the other day.  Guys that have the God Hand flush cutters were saying they’re the same. But they were only $16 on Amazon.

I may get one of those Tamiya Tomcats. ! Haven't built a Tomcat since I

built the big Tamiya Tomcat in 1983.

Just checked and they're $50 off Amazon.ca so not much cheaper than a pair of Godhand or Dspiae nippers.

I must have about eight of these "Egg Girl" kits with two more on the way. A lot

of these are sold on Amazon and EBAY at inflated prices. These appear

to be limited run kits and when the run ends prices go up. Plaza Japan has

them for $24 US....A good price I Think. Anyway I recently ordered one from

Amazon. Well, Amazon decided to combine shipment with this and a case

of Glucerna shakes. The items came in one large box, loosely packed.

Well, the box of Glucerna weighed about 20 lbs and the Egg Girl box almost

nothing. Needless to say, the Hasegawa Egg Girl box was crushed.

Fortunately, Hasegawa wraps the product in bubble wrap and the kit

itself was ok.  I called Amazon customer service to make them aware

of their stupidity using colorful language.

Just had this delivered, as I recently relented and bought a 1/24 scale Airfix Spitfire IX this is a must have, I have quite a few of their offerings and they are really good.

Not model related.

After 3 years an 2 months on my job at hq its time to move on.

I have another job at hq so today it whas time to say goodbeye to my buddy's.

And i have got this from the RSM.

Another nice surprise whas a flight in de sim off the A400M

It whas very impresive and i had the luck to fly for 15 min and try to land that beast.

 

So on the first off juli new challenges on the way.

Went to a Hobby shop today in Kenosha and found this item.

By Italeri it's their ABM 41/42 with 47/32 AT Gun  (6455) in 1/35.

Not a big buyer of Italeri kits in the past.....I bought this one as it

is of an Interesting subject. The kit looks pretty decent. It came

out in 2007and is apparently out of production. It has 247 parts, including

photo-etch, "rubber" tires (2 types) and a turned aluminum barrel.

Just arrived...

I found this kit online at a site for Knoble Knight Games.

From FineMolds, their Type 95 "Ha-Go" (FM16SP2) in 1/35 This kit is due

to be re-released sometime in Oct of this year but has been hard to find

for a while. The quality of these Fine Molds kits looks good. I also have their

Type 89 kit. Painting these will be challenging, I think. Not sure how to

tackle that yellow stripe thing the Japanese did. The camouflage was either

sprayed or hard-edged brush painted.  This thing is small enough to be

painted with a paint brush. Anyway, We'll see. Glad to have found it.

Sometimes i find interesting kit but i do not buy it because of too intricate paint scheme. Does anybody have same problem?

I have noticed that i learned more in one 1/16 build that all previous 1/35 builds combined. So more challenging stuff is good👍

Stepping out of my comfort zone of enamel paints and am slowly treading water with Lacquer paints.  All new to me. Picked up some gloss black for the metalizers at Doc Rob’s advice and a few others. Can this stuff be brush painted on small parts? So this was at a LHS in Kamloops B. C.  Just shy of $90

I have no idea about the Vallejo metal colors, but the Tamiya lacquer colors can be brush painted. Some colors of the LP range cover better than others, but the blacks are especially good and my go to specially for car modeling. Gloss black is really high shine, mixed with about two thirds of leveling thinner and a pefect base for chrome or polished aluminum. I tried this with Alclad and AK`s Extreme Metals. 
The semi matte black is perfect for non shining car parts, there is nothing better out there.

Thanks Rob , thats exactly what I was asking. I will use the metalizers in the air brush. It was the Lacquers I was referring to , I should have been more clear in my question   Thanks for the excellent info. This is ‘new ‘ ground for an old dog.

Yes.  The thicker lacquers like Tamiya and Mr. Color are perfect for small parts.  MRP comes pre-thinned for airbrushing.

So, your going to try acrylic lacquers. I told you Tamiya acrylics are great to spray paint. If you use there lacquer thinner on there standard acrylics they spray fantastic.

 Tamiya doesn't brush paint the greatest, but it can be done. I usually use Vallejo for brush painting details. Model color is best for brush painting, it's thicker.
