Soo.... What did you just get???

Hi Danny, I can recommend the Mig-23 having just finished one.

Just a couple of things to watch out for - the closure of the centre section of the fuselage over the wing mechanism; make sure the cog which controls the wing sweep is pushed as far down as possible or you get a dome where the upper fuselage should be flat. The other is the fit of the vertical fin which can have quite a gap at the base and may be related to the first issue.

Can recommend the Linden Hill decals as well as I used them for the Syrian insignia on mine and they looked great and went on easily.

Look forward to seeing this take shape.

Got these delivered today.yahoo.gif

Only regarding the Verlinden cockpit detail set i am a little disappointed. I thought it was a complete resin cockpit but when opening the box there where only two resin ejection seat's, some basic pe and a electronic bay (cockpit?????).hmmm.gif

Ok, the ejection seat's are beauty's and so is the rest of the content so it will be a more or less addition to the kit.whistle.gif

if some of you guy's can tell me iff there is more aftermarket regarding the Trumpeter 1/32 MIG 21UM please just let me know.

Just accumulated this little lot for my next project..

20160116_212352_zpsgacjzom2.jpg

Going to build this as IDF F-15C 840 Commando which shot down the Mig-23 I recently finished. Thought it was 802 but the Osprey book states that was wrong, so change of plan. Thankfully the Cutting Edge decal set covers both.

Have gone with the Quickboost seat as it has moulded on belts and I HATE PE belts for modern jets - please someone do some fabric ones.

The seamless intakes and exhaust set are from Gary Hatherly at GT Resin and look amazing. The casting is excellent and the feathers on the exhausts are so fine they look really 'in scale'.

Hope I can do this all justice with some of the amazing Eagle builds I've seen elsewhere. I'm gonna have fun trying anyway!

Definitely a day of great plastic here (and resin, turned brass and decals!)

These came on a trade from Johan, LSM member.

Plus some great stuff like a full set of Barracuda sets for the Spit, plus barrels. There are decals for the P-51D, and Aires cockpit and wheel well set for the Zeke!

Bootiful!

Not model related, but something i wanted for a long time and finally got one.

HGU-55P with MBU-12 oxygen mask. Worn by a Belgian Air Force pilot who flew the Alpha Jet.

It has his place now in my little humble display case.

I went yesterday to a modelling convention in my neighborhood, to purchase some goodies i needed. Main reason was to buy the enamel Vietnam camo colors from DACO. Danny told me two weeks ago that his Dark green was out of stock, but the other colors where in stock. No problem............for the dark green i will use Humbrol.

Only one vendor had a range of Humbrol colors, but..............he was out of stock regarding the dark greenBANGHEAD2.jpg

Tamiya refill tape and surprise Prym flat rigging wire wich i payed at the convention 5€. At Hannants this cost's 14€, same product.....hmmm.gif

Some reading stuff

On my way home i stopped at Artobi (my favorite chop for my paint's and airbrush goodies) to get some personal protection for my upcoming spray session with enamels and off course the much needed HUmbrol Dark green colors.

Time to start painting my F-104 now.

I don't think naked pictures of Mr Self Leveling Thinner, or Mr Surfacer 1200 Black are all that sexy, so i wont post them here.

Maybe later i will post some photo-etched radioaltimeter porn.

I have been dying to buy some more kits but nothing really springs out at me, I only build WW2 subjects and being limited for space means that the bigger kits are not an option. The FLY Hurricanes were an added bonus, roll on the Sea Hurricane I say. The one kit that has eluded me was the Tamiya Mosquito which at over £100 was too rich for me, so when the boss (wife) and I got to the Cosford show this year I said to her that I would only buy one if it was £100 or less, and lo and behold we walked into the first hanger and there on a stand was a Tamiya Mosquito for £100, so I had to take it home.

Well the mailman drove by and threw this one at my front door. I was a little hesitant, but what the heck I'll take it ;)

Odd though, it's not the B-17G as the box says....

The keen eye will tell you it's the F. This is a test shot I'll be building for Model Aircraft.

My sincere thanks to Neil, HK, Jim and LSM for the chance to have a go at this one. This kit has been well worth the wait for me. I've been dreaming of an F since the G was originally just announced years ago.

I DO hope you're building it into another B-17F than Memphis Belle.... That one's sooooo overexposed....  No idea if there are markings for sale out there, but how about the 303rd BG?

Eric that 8 ball is a must!!! Has " Fran"on The engine!

I like this "8 Ball" idea also!! ... I've been waiting for OD variant - so many more colourful possibilities.

I kind of agree ... unless you have a personal connection (like JimD) with the Belle ... it's very "cliché"

it'll be popular, of course - so markings should help sell the kit ... but I'll probably stay away from Belle markings also.

Rog :)
