Administrators Clunkmeister Posted May 11, 2019 Author Administrators Share Posted May 11, 2019 I must say that this kit has, so far, been an absolute pleasure to build. The fuselage closed up extremely nicely. There is a lot of stuff inside that fuselage, and it all lines up and fits well. Yes I’m paranoid and have checked the fit every build session, sometimes 3 or 4 times per session, but no changes were needed other than a bit of relief on the sidewalls around the aftermarket panel.
seiran01
Wooo! Major milestone on the build! looks like you got the rear windows polished up nicely. And now the remaining steps of the build will fall like dominos

Jeff
I concur with Harv, and will add to that , you are knocking this out of the park in masterful quick time..... loving what you're doing Ernie............... and the rear observation blister looks perfect.......this will look really bright and crisp with Mike's decals, I bet it's the hit of the show...... in the end, as I think I may have missed it, what did you do for the second control wheel? And what did you use for the rear blister? I'm sure you said, but maybe I was 'away that day'??
Martinnfb
Nice details showing over-plating the side windows with rectangular pieces and the shape of the housing inlets, with some interior colours. Sorry about the delay.

Administrators Clunkmeister Posted May 12, 2019 Author Administrators Share Posted May 12, 2019 Mike, I’m going to modify what you sent, and as long as we don’t break through, we’re good. We did alright with the pics we had at the time.
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted May 12, 2019 Author Administrators Share Posted May 12, 2019 Check out that green paint! That’s NOT RAF interior green. That’s US interior green, almost a green chromate. I think I was right in mixing RAF and US interior greens together. Definitely a chromate on the panels, and a hybrid look on the bulkheads. Two different greens
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted May 12, 2019 Author Administrators Share Posted May 12, 2019 Martin, those pics speak volumes. I need to attach thin rectangular covers over the window areas. Belay that! I just need to scribe rectangles around the glass areas.
Martinnfb
Just a thought: Would not it be easier to scribe those rectangles around them?

Administrators Clunkmeister Posted May 13, 2019 Author Administrators Share Posted May 13, 2019 Well, with a little clean up, it should look the part. Scoop is on according to where Martin’s pics showed it. Fuselage reinforcement plates and turret plate are .005 Evergreen clear. Placed according to pictures
