1to1scale
I was contemplating all the started/unfinished builds I have from 2018 and 2019, and came to startling conclusion...I actually finished more than I thought! So here are the finishers... 1. 21 Century Zero. This was a quick two week build, I wanted a Zero to sit next to my Pearl Harbor P-40. Mostly OOB, just added AM gauges and decals. 2. Hobbycraft P-51/Mk.1a/F6A, Normandy. I finished this build just before the local Show in November, I don’t have a final photos, they will come later. 3. Trumpeter MIG-15. This build started as a weathering study, but ended up getting many AM, resin, PE, brass, aluminum, and scratchbuilt components, and it was shaping up to be an epic build. Sadly, my decision to use a clay/water wash reactivated the chipping fluid through the clear, ruining several layers. I pressed on trying to hide it using more weathering, this is where disaster #2 happened, in a sleep deprived brain fade, I used oils instead of streaking, and the whole aircraft turned pinkish brown. As you can see on one side, I did manage to clean off some of the oils, but also did damage to the metal finish. In order to get it to the show, I ended up covering the wings in snow effect, however, it will be stripped and repainted in 2020. 4. Dragon/Platz Panzer IV. Incredible OOB build, lots of detail, all new molds, low parts count, and superb fit. This was also my first attempt and tank weathering. 5. Tamiya Early Tiger. This was another fun build, until I decided to build a set of RFM tracks...5 pieces per link, 92 links per side, yes...900 pieces! I added gauze netting and a resin barrel. It was a simple build, simple kit, but at the November show, it took 2nd in a very strong field! I’m not sure how it beat some of the other tanks, but grateful. 6. Trumpeter Mi-4p Hound. This was my oddball build of the year, I fell in love with this goofy shaped helicopter when I saw it, but then found out it served a longer career in civilian than military life. I scratchbuilt many, many, features. one of my favorite builds, it really stretched the limits of my abilities. Alas, it ends up being moved around to different categories, never finding any love. 9
TJTX
That's a far more productive year than me Mark. Highly quality too, especially that helicopter!
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted December 28, 2019 Administrators Share Posted December 28, 2019 I’ve done next to nothing compared to y’all. One big project still not officially “done”, and a quickie F-5 build. A couple or three newish projects started and on the go. As usual, a bunch of resin love 8
smitty44
For me. I also have an ongoing A-4C project that will be the bee's knees. 11
[CAT]CplSlade
Yeah, the chopper is nice. In the first pic, the perspective with the venue walls in the background made it remind me of a similar display in one of the buildings at Pensacola NAS. The info sheet stuck under the gear and the figures standing on the lefthand side were the only things keeping me from believing it could have been a photo of a heli in a museum hangar. Lil' Photoshop take care of that...

HubertB
You guys put me to shame : some started, or resumed, but none finished ... I got my golfing back in line though, although far from a decent handicap, after a 25 years’ hiatus Hubert

I got lots of range time this year, I found a rifle range that goes out to 1200 meters, so I’ve spent many Saturdays out there ringing gongs from 1100 meters. It also gave this old guy a resin to get his eyes checked.

[CAT]CplSlade
I kinda sorta finished these tonight. They are OOB, and I didn't spend much time weathering them as I don't know if I want to give them context yet or not...Not as pretty as the previous posted work, but they actually got built and that is the goal here.

yknu
I am now back with my HK 1/32 Lancaster project. I am now struggling with following issues: which issues thatt he kit have I will fix and which I will just leave. And I need bulged bomb bay doors. My target is JB139 Dark Victor. As a rehearsal I made on Airfix 07007A Bomber, the Motörhead Bomber-album 40th anniversary He111-6 1/72 kit. I wanted to make it flying as in the album cover and build a base so that I can put it on top of my loudspeaker and listen Motörhead very, VERY loud :0). Btw. Airfix boxing have excellent decals but just the basic He 111-6 kit. The He in the album cover is heavily modified. I made a few necessary changes but not all of them. This project was also a study how to make interesting black surface for the Lanc project. I tested several paint brands. Another model I finished was a Tamiya old but nice 1/48 Spit Vb. This was a present for my good friend, who lives in London. Ikea has nice small vitrine (Synas) with LED-lights. You can fit in one 1/48 small fighter (spit, mustang, Bf 109..) or medium size 1/35 AFV. I made one with Academy Tiger Late inside. It just fitted in. I gave that as a present to my wife's brother. 2020 will be my Lanc year :0)

Was the corsair the last build you finished? You should pick up something simple with those winnings and we will have the Put SOmethin' on the Shelf with Harv group build. Nothing is a better motivator than putting something on the shelf! 7

I knock one of those out when I’m down and it revs me right up.
Sir Desmond Glazebrook
I built the little 1/72 Airfix Spitfire for a 10 year old that was a birthday present. I think this is from 2019. This was a birthday present for a 12 year old boy. 6
