Bill_S Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 How do you keep modular units together, Harv? Do they use magnets like Hobbyzone? 3
harv Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 Bill, press fit, cutouts. I even use a small hammer to get some of the pieces together. And some CA glue. The fit is very good....harv 3 1
Bomber_County Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 9mm thick, that’s serious over engineering, structural guys always pump up the safety factors but 9mm is probably SF of 40............looks cool though Harv........ 4
harv Posted February 10, 2020 Author Posted February 10, 2020 This is what I was talking about tongue and groove. I am moving along. The fit is very good. It looks like attaching the units is small wooden dowels in the back. More on that later....harv  7
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted February 12, 2020 Administrators Posted February 12, 2020 Looks good, buddy. The Hobbyzone stuff I bought has been completely awesome!! Â 3 1

harv Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 Assembly has started. As you can see, sections are put together with small dowels......harv  6

BlrwestSiR Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Looks impressive. I'd have to redo my workspace if I got one though. Still very tempting. Carl 2 1
harv Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 Yeah, I have to loose the shelves to the bench. The whole top lifts off. Bev likes that idea. She will be able to see out the windows....harv 3
Bomber_County Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Looks the business Harv, what’s going to be first project for the new bench?..........  3 1

krow113 Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 On second thought are those Guantanamo Bay surplus curtains? 3
GazzaS Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 That's a beautiful work area, Harv! Now, clutter that up with models! Do you keep a bottle of CA de-bonder handy. I've used it fro removing CA from the tiles where I work. The tiles are matte, and the CA shines brightly...lol 3 1
