Looking great so far Rob! The seat is really well done! Which oils from which supplier did you use?

Nearing completion Gaz! Looks really stunning. I especially love how the 3-tone-upper camouflage and the exhaust stains turned out. Can‘t wait to see it completed and with a coat of flat varnish! -
Beautiful flawless build, Tony! The belts look really realistic now! Like Carl said: just give weathering a try like on the belts. You can’t destroy anything. If it doesn’t please you you can easily paint it over. I also did it a long time like you and then I tested weathering with oil color. Is quite easy and you can create a lot of different color tones. I have Daler Rowney Oil Colors: Black, Umber, White and Blue. And thinner. The surface has to be sealed with future / pledge or acrylic clear. This protects the underlying paint. And then you can start by mixing the colors and applying them heavily thinned to corners, panel lines, etc. It needs to dry a day but can easily be wiped off if it doesn’t please you. Fixing is done with flat varnish. You should really give it a try. Really improves the model. I have my oil colors for 18 years now and can still use them! I enclosed some fotos for more clarity. It’s so easy! You should really give it a try.

Bent wing bird- Tamiya F4U-1A

Looks absolutely convincing Carl. The color of the cylinders is spot on! Not easy to paint the crankcase due to necessary masking. Well done! -

Revell P-51-5NA Mustang

What a mess this Revell Stang is! You do not only have to walk the extra mile, it‘s lots of extra miles you have to walk! Never thought that this would be such a bad kit regarding fit! But the fotos show that this will be a flawless build in the end! Looks beautiful so far! I would use your 3rd proposal for the wing-painting. Seems to be the most promising for me. The high speed silver will give them the right look. I’m curious what your tests will show.I have the Tamiya Stang in my stash and have to deal with the same topic... Can‘t wait to see your next update! Kai -

The surface of the wings and fuselage is stunning Mike. Looks as if it was real linen! The support construction you scratched is simply perfect. This will be another beauty from you when finished. -

Alberto, Raanan Weis is the owner of Isracast and Isradecal. He is a nice guy. Got to know him in Telford 2019. But not so reliable in his business. Just wait for your order to arrive. Maybe you get it fast and without any missing parts!- 719 replies

Israeli Mirage III C with Atar9C
Kaireckstadt replied to Kaireckstadt's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Last night I detailed all wheel-wells with Eduard brass. Much of it left over since the detail on the Italeri parts is really nice and 3D compared to 2D Eduard. For the main landing gear wheel well you have to change the assembly of the gear-strut to be assembled at the end when you want to use the brass parts. But this is also better for the painting-process and no problem at all. The prominent ejector pin mark on the font nosewheel door will be eliminated. Next will be primary painting of the wells and detail-painting and weathering.- 719 replies
