  1. Great looking Recce-Phantom! Love the SEA-camouflage!
  2. Well done Ian! Looks as if it never broke! Also good job on the tail-surfaces! Which paint did you use? Masks homemade?
  3. This would interest me too. The green is very flat. Also like the homemade masks!
  4. Thanks for the link with the Tiger correction info! Highly appreciated!
  5. That’s very nice Mike. But where are the pictures from the model? Great work! Can’t wait to see it finished! Cheers Kai
  6. Is this a quick build? Your speed is remarkable! So much progress in so less time! Looks really great to me(but I‘m no tank expert). Makes me take out the Tiger I Gruppe Fehrmann out of my stash (yes, I also have a tank!). It‘s also from Rye Field Models. BTW: You seem to model at nights? That’s funny: me too...
  7. Thanks for the explanation Rob! I have a question: How did you achieve the correct angle between the struts? Do you have a sort of slipway or how do you manage that ?
  8. Great work on the struts Rob! Seems to be not an easy job but you managed it perfectly!
  9. That’s modeling in the real meaning of the word! Much effort put into it but the result will pay off for that! The U/C-braces are really nice. I only have a WNW Fokker D VII and a Meng Dr I Triplane in my stash and hope that these braces will be strong enough!
  10. Can only underline, what Rob said! A huge amount of extra work (and CA-Glue) needed! Great idea with the electric toothbrush!
  11. Looks great (as usual) Mike. The beauty is nearing completion...
  12. This looks great Jeroen. This really enhances the engine-panels These are the biggest quick releases I‘ve ever seen... How many did you loose in the carpet?
  13. That’s the picture you also find in the Dambuster-Book. Really a must... So you have a real relation to the plane you build! That’s nice!
  14. Nice to see another Lancaster here. You did a beautiful job on this one and I especially love the nose-art! The feathered propeller is a nice and very seldom seen addition!
  15. Thanks Harv, much appreciated! And as I already said to Rob: Don’t underestimate your building quality!
  16. I can only underline what you said: If you have a kit on the desk which nerves you, take a Tamiya out of your stash! Especially the Corsair is perfectly engineered. It was the first kit I build without using any putty. If something doesn’t fit it’s the fault of the builder. The only aftermarket I used were barracuda decals for the cockpit and resin-wheels which are not really necessary to be honest! I also learned a lot like you with the build. Especially regarding the weathering techniques. I also try to replicate it as it occurs on the real plane like you do. I.e. not to paint on chipped paint, but to remove the paint from the model. You said this was your first kit after a long pause? Couldn’t believe it! Don’t underestimate the quality of your builds... Cheers Kai
  17. Thank you Phil! Like Rob said: would be very nice to see yours finished!
  18. This is simply amazing! Wood, Instruments, piping/ cabling beautifully done.
  19. Looks great Rowdy! This brings life to the engine! The fixing is done with Tamiya-Tape? I use the same method, looks very convincing.
  20. Thanks for the fotos Rob! Your Corsair is really impressive and the weathering is spot on. This is the most difficult part to create a most realistic weathering and you managed it perfectly! You also went the extra mile with the engine details. Looks awesome!
  21. Thanks for the Infos, Cees! Really nothing more needed. Painting on the marks is a good decision also regarding the size of the decals and weathering aspects. I also was afraid especially of the 4-color fuselage and the very big wing-roundels. The Lancaster was my first build for which I used masks. I used the masks from TopNotch which included a good description especially for the alignment. Although I‘m a newbie it worked.
  22. Thanks a lot! Chris Wauchop - who is one of the best modelers in the world in my eyes - also did a Corsair which inspired me a lot of for my build: https://www.google.de/amp/s/chriswauchop.com/2015/06/24/tamiya-132-vought-f4u-1a-corsair/amp/
