This beast came by UPS about an hour ago. It's another Trumpeter biggie in 1/16 scale. This time a T-72b. While it's big, A quick look shows that it doesn't have the level of detail that Trumpeter's big SU-100 does. Their SU-100 has 1100 parts while the T-72 has 700. This looks like a far simpler build and it probably has RC origins. Anyway, the parts look well-molded and the size of this kit is impressive; it will measure out to be 24-7/8 inches in length. I think it'll be a fun build and will look impressive on a large shelf.

Got this today; A book on the SU-100. A quick look through it so far shows a lot of information on this beast, with lots of pictures, diagrams, etc. It'll ,no doubt, be useful when I build the big Trumpeter kit.

Usual kitlinx. They always take a week or ten days to ship. Frustrating, I know, but you'll get it eventually. I ordered a Tamiya T-55 from them and after a long wait, I decided to go ahead and order one from Sprue Brothers. Now I have two of these kits. Well, in the future, I suggest Sprue brothers. I've grown tired of the "Ships in one week" or "special order in Europe, ships in two weeks" policy of Kitlinx.

This came in the mail the other day. It's the second one I have ordered. Its a rear engine screen in 1/16 for the T-34 or the Su 100 Trumpeter kits from FC model Trend.

This came from Amazon yesterday. A Tamiya Soviet 1935 BT-7 tank. It looks like a nice kit but it's much smaller than I expected. It'll make an interesting project.

Please continue with this build. The Brewster Buffalo is one of my favorites!

I like the figure. I'll be following this build as I have the Takom/Ammo 1/16 Spanish Breda gun variant of the Panzer 1a. I also have Takom's Panzer 1b which might be my next build. Not sure if the figure's face reminds me more of Boris Karloff or Raymond Massey. There's a manufacturer of resin stuff, SOL, that makes figures in 1/16. These include WW2 and modern figures including female subjects. I like their Soviet female tank driver in 1/16 but she's pricey.

Thanks. I like to make my models to look clean. I'm not experienced enough yet to try any weathering yet. I'll start by degree, learning as I go along and by seeing other members models. I have to admit I do like the originals as they appear in Museums and as monuments.

No. Tamiya Acrylic paint. The parts I question are headlight quards. I'll Have to paint the headlights before I put these in place. I suspect I'll have To use a slow setting glue, and use a brush to touch-up with paint any Glue that shows afterward. Perhaps I'll use CA gell, epoxy, or the pva canopy Glue I've been using. Not sure right now. These parts are ridiculously delicate and need carefull positioning. They are the FC Model Trend parts I posted A while back

What's the best glue to use with 3-d printed parts? I purchased some 3d printed parts for a kit I'm working on. These will probably be attached to a painted surface after they have also been painted. Paul.

Working on this now: A Trumpy 1/35 Soviet PT-76. So far an occasionally frustrating kit with some very tiny parts. I found myself on my knees searching for tiny parts that I thought I'd never find again. I did find them! Anyway, I think It'll turn out Ok. I've been spending a lot of time filling some holes for cable ends I decided I won't use. The string provided, well, I didn't like the looks of it.

Saw the movie again, recently. I didn't care too much for it. The special effects were Fine, but the story line with Decaprio and Winslet predictable. Besides, I always thought Winslet a bit chubby at the time. I grew to despise Celine Dion and that theme song!

Finished up today. This was a fun build. I really like the looks of this quirky beast. I see Trumpeter has a few more of these Soviet tractors, including one called the Komintern that is a really strange looking thing with a long hood and funky-looking suspension system. This was my first try at Friulmodel tracks and they left a positive impression. I'm going to see about trying that chemical blackening solution. Anyway, Here are some pictures.
