John Some radical surgery but it worked - the wings have what seems as the same degree of anhedral. Nice going - pretty radical fixed but it was the best option left.

Chris Just seems to come with the territory and if a fan removes the fumes and smell, so be it. Always better to be as safe as possible. I'm sure none of the paints, stains, glues and of course resin are any good for us. I think the Mig PLW is enamel based and that should say it all

Thanks Mike Making slow progress but getting something done each day. I have the fuselage glued up and a lot of tweaking was needed to achieve a good fit with the nose assembly. Of course, the fuselage needs to be glued to the wing assembly which is now underway first or if you glue the nose on first, the wing fuselage fit won't work!

Chris Panel lines, rivets and weathering look so good. Playing around with the degree of how much of the Mig PLW is removed and working the Q-tip in the direction of the air flow along with holding back somewhat on the gloss clear worked perfectly. Nothing like part fit of Tamiya kits.

Ernie How right you are. We keep asking for more details and accuracy, regardless of the limits of technology and now throw in 3D modeling as well and still expect perfection in fit and assembly. These days I'm a happy camper with descent details and hope for no or few fit issues, which for the most part doesn't happen. With all the details added as I move forward in the build, the fit gremlins are popping up everywhere - guess you're right, you can't have both. I'm so sorry to hear about; Death is all around me, and we fight on. My prayers that you and your family are well and alright.

John Just checked out your completed/finished photos and the 104 looks so good. I wish I had the same control with the Whirlwind as you did with the 104 and just put it on the SOD until things calmed down.

Rob Quite a plan and will be following closely. As a Tamiya Fan Boy, I've come to realize that I need to clean any paint off of mating surfaces or there will be tight fit issues - just use to it at this stage of the game. Chipping sounds spot on and can't wait to see it through the paint stages.

I've been using Image Shack for more years then I care to remember and resize the file there when posting. Almost all my pics have spent time in Photoshop and Lightroom and I export the finished images to a build folder and then upload them to Image Shack for posting. There are nine resolutions Image Shake offers for uploading to forum sites. I use either 1024x768 and 1280 x 1024

John Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I actually prefer the look of the 104 with her wing tips clean and neat.

I always read the historical and modeling info Tamiya and other manufactures included with their kits - just adds to the overall enjoyment for me. Afterall, I'm an airplane fanatic at heart.
