Your favorite Messerschmitt 109 Mk?
GazzaS replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in General Discussion
I like the G6 the best. Unlike the sleekest variants, it has a few lumps and bumps to draw the eye. And so many schemes available! I have 2 LS G6's and a few more 1/48 scale G6's waiting to be built. Gaz -
Welcome to the forums! I like cars, too... Looking forward to seeing some of your builds. Gaz

HPH B-36 Peacemaker A truly LARGE scale model.
GazzaS replied to Clunkmeister's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
I'm wondering what it'll look like under the greenhouse, Ern. Must be shitloads of instrumentation, not to mention the pizza oven and soda fountain. -
It's a tough time, Ernie. NO need to feel obligated to model. Relax.

Your modelimg choices, what spurs you on?
GazzaS replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in General Discussion
Interesting question, Dale. And some interesting answers. I was born in Germany but didn't live there very long. My American father didn't want the kids of his German wife to be anything but Americans. I don't feel it's rebellious, but I have been more interested in Germans and German history than any other peoples. He hated it. I model German subjects almost exclusively. Anything USAAF/IJA/IJN that I can foil has some interest. I recently built a MiG-25 and a T-34. One is an interesting aircraft, and the other a was inspired by it's appearance in the movie Cross of Iron,. Planes, Ships, and vehicles with guns. No gun, little interest. Gaz -

Wow... Interesting project and a nice start, Rob. I know only too little about this machine. But I'll be glad to watch. Gaz -

What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)

We're primed! There are a few little blemishes to fix. I also worked on the FuG 212 aerials. I'm not going to attach the radar, guns, or other weird protuberances until the paint and decals are done. There's just too much fragility. Gaz -
It happens, John. I prescribe a Tamiya Corsair and two aspirin. But don't call me in the morning.

What's your favourite Mk Spitfire?
GazzaS replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in General Discussion
I like the I or II. Simple and elegant. No lumps, no bumps, and no long barrels sticking out. Would I buy it? Hell no... I'm a 109 guy! -
Gee, Ernie, Sorry to hear of all of your troubles! My hopes go out to you. Gaz

I've been in a strange mood lately... Anyway... working on ICM's 1/48 scale Dornier 217N1 with the AIMS N2/R22 conversion. All of the darker gray bits are resin. Schräge Musik anyone? Kitbox: https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/8/2/1/1123821-27767-38-pristine.jpg -

Well done, John! I think it's about time you built a 1/32 scale aircraft carrier for all of these corsairs. -

Your colour and marking preference?
GazzaS replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in General Discussion
I like RLM 74/75/76 and Italian the most. Too bad that most Italian planes either don't exist as acceptable models or are just plain fugly. I dig USAAF NMF and Japanese NMF schemes, too. OD is not for me. -
HobbyBoss A-26 Invader: Holy Thread Drift, Batman!

Looks mighty small compared to those boxes. You sure it's 1/32? -
I bought a black BBQ apron at Bunnings. Does a great job of catching parts when I remember to wear it. Comes with a bottle opener, too. The best thing about it is that the straps slide free under the apron so you can lower it on your body (I'm 1.91M) so that it covers your knees.
