  1. I've used it. I couldn't find a difference in the results. It also can harden with age. After discussing it with my LHS, they said they had heard similar issues from other customers. The solution was use a different brand of paint as a primer. I used Tamiya acrylic as a primer and that solved the paint lifting. Here's my first try with the paint, a Type XXIIi U-boat. The paint lifting occurred when masking the hull demarcation line. On my subsequent usage on the B-24, with a coat of Tamiya flat white as a primer, the paint only lifted in a couple spots and the masking there was much more extensive.
  2. I have a love/hate relationship with Mission Model paints. It sprays nice enough and has decent coverage but it's sometime a fragile finish and lifts just by looking at it wrong. If it was more durable, I'd use it more often.
  3. Great camo there Rob. A nice disruptive scheme. I've never tried hair spray for chipping yet. I've used chipping fluids with mixed results.
  4. I was getting some items for my son off Amazon and saw this Godzilla figure so I had to get one. This is the most recent Godzilla as seen in Minus One.
  5. I just finished Starter Villian by John Scalzi. It's a fun book in the spy/sci-fi/comedy genre.
  6. Peter, glad to hear you and Diane are doing well and staying healthy. Sorry to hear about Joel's eyesight issues though. Hopefully they can stabilize things for him. He's such a great car modeler I can't imagine what he must be feeling. We were at my in-laws 65th anniversary party on the weekend. Sue's dad is 89, and will be 90 in March. This time last year we weren't sure he was going to make it to Christmas. He'd taken a serious fall, thankfully not breaking anything but was in a rehab hospital for 3 weeks. Since that stay, he's rebounded and is in much better health and spirits. Carl
  7. Here I was thinking I don't recall seeing wings on the Millennium Falcon. Nice work on the Attacker's wings.
  8. Lovely 109 there Chris. Great paint job of a unique scheme too.
  9. Oh, that's a nice looking kit Rob. I've been on the fence about getting it as the Pegasus one is still on my bench.
  10. She's a beaut Scott. Hard to believe that's a 59 year old car.
  11. And here's the finished brisket. Jimmy was hoping I'd drop it but no such luck.
  12. Air Canada 144 leaves at 12:15 from Calgary. Arrives here at 6:05 so just about perfect timing.
  13. Looks good there Martin. The USAF paint scheme worked out nicely. Paul, I think it's the Revell Arado Amerika bomber.
  14. At the halfway mark: Gift wrapped for the final stint.
  15. It should be done around 6 Pm EST so I think you've got enough time to grab a flight and arrive by then. I do them on our Big Green Egg. The thing holds a temp really well. I just got back from walking our dog for 1 1/2 hours and the needle hasn't budged from where I'd left it.
  16. Sue's cousin is visiting from Scotland so I thought I'd make a smoked brisket since that's not something that she would come across in Edinburgh. I'll post again later when it's done.
  17. Great progress there Ralph. Can't believe you got the tracks together so quickly.
  18. I did mine as Little Miss Mischief so it took slightly longer. They're fun kits.
  19. That looks great Dave. I like the shading you did on the lower section between the afterburners.
  20. Congrats on the engagement Rog! The house is really coming along. Are the propane tanks for just the stove or everything?
  21. Wow, who knew it would be that much. I guess the do-it-yourself kits they sell at Home Despot don't cut it then?
  22. Nice work there Dave. The varied panels on the F-4 rear fuselage are so distinctive.
  23. I finally did some work on the Sheridan. The turret halves are together and the main gun mounted. The commander's cupola was finished as well. Just need to install the pintle with the shield and the 0.50 cal to go with it.
  24. I'm the same as you Scott. I use mine only for large coverage and in that regard it works very well. Mine's a bit of a tank though as it's all metal.
