Nice! So want to get one but haven't found anyone with it in stock. Probably something to do with the price.

Spitfires!

Thanks! It was my first WIP done on LSP. I haven't come across any additional photos of the plane but haven't looked since I built it. -
Looks very nice there Harv.

Fokker DR.I in 1/32 announced from Meng
BlrwestSiR replied to DocRob's topic in Modelling Discussion
Well, the kit is now up for preorder. Lucky Model has it for $38.99: https://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?search=Y&q_brand=MENG&q_category=&q_scale=32&q_word=&q_show_instock_only=N Much less than I would have expected. Me? I'm getting a 1/32 Viggen. Now if they do a Duelist release with Snoopy on a dog house in flying garb I might change my mind. Carl -
Finally received my order from Volks USA. At the same time, I got a package from Harv for my two boys. They've already decided who's building what. Thanks Harv for your generosity and I'll let you know how it goes. Catl

Most likely it'll be an Academy kit as Tamiya doesn't make a two seat Viper. Although you could use the Isracast 2 seat conversion on a Tamiya kit

Looks really good. The tires are especially impressive if you're freehanding them. Carl -
Ah yes, the Aires mantra. "Looks great! Won't fit!"

I was shamed acquiring modeling supplies yesterday.

Next time maybe try an RC hobby shop. They use silicone tubes for fuel lines. Comes in all sorts of colour. -
1/35 Tamiya Panzer Kampfwagen II Ausf type F
BlrwestSiR replied to Lee Drennen's topic in LSM Armour Finished Work
Really nice. Is there two different tanks that were called Panzer II? Carl -
If they're similar to the ones in the 190D, I'd say they're ok.

Fokker DR.I in 1/32 announced from Meng

That was Wingscale. My understanding is the guy had contracted HK to design, make the moulds, and produce the kits for him. They had a disagreement about something and the partnership ended. As part of that settlement, HK ended up releasing the kit under their name. No idea on what the disagreement was about, only HK and Wingscale will know the full details. Likewise, the situation here. If Meng was contracted to make the moulds and subsequently the kits for WNW but hasn't received payment due to the closure of WNW, then I'd say they're just trying to recoup the cost of the work they've done. But again, only Meng and WNW will know. This is a bit different from when Academy was caught outright copying other companies' kits and cutting badly copied moulds to make their own kits. In fact Academy was banned from selling in Japan after they were caught. They had to get a third party to rebox their kits sold there. I absolutely agree that theft (IP or physical) shouldn't be supported but we don't know if the moulds were stolen or obtained as settlement. -
Holy crap! John's building a 1/1 Spitfire. That's going to take a lot of shelf space.

My parents would call up and say, "let's meet for breakfast". At Ikea. As it was inexpensive and they could have me help them with stuff after.- 42 replies

Mr Color is lacquer based and their Aqueous line is acrylic. Both can be thinned with Mr Color Leveling thinner. Hope that helps. Carl

If I'm lucky, I'll get a thin slice off one of them. -
Rather than clutter up JohnB's build thread, here's my Spitfire XIV and XVI builds from a few years ago. The XIV is a Tamiya VIII kit with Raduis XIV conversion set. That was designed for the older PCM IX kit so needed a bit more work to make it fit the Tamiya kit. This was the first Tamiya Spitfire I built. Nothing like jumping into the deep end. Next up is my XVI also using the Tamiya kit. I was able to get advice on it from someone who worked on the real aircraft back in the day. The cowl panels are still removable. Nothing like a red Merlin with chrome heads. I mentioned earlier that you don't see too many bubbletop Spitfires. Hopefully Iconicair comes out with their XIV conversion soon so I can build a low back XIV. Lastly, here's my Revell Spitfire 24. Most folks know this as the old Matchbox kit and the challenges that it brings.

Best place to check is probably f-16.net http://www.f-16.net/f-16_users_article32.html They have a listing based on which unit of the ANG you're looking for and what the different variants are.

The only Fantasy Printshop decals I've used were on my Spitfire PR X conversion and I didn't have any issues. I believe the Airscale instrument decals are printed by them. Carl

That might have been me. I've got several Tiger Meet schemes for Vipers. So far have the tail for the Polish one done.

Something I can sink my teeth into hopefully: 9lb brisket and a 10lb pork shoulder. We're "hosting" a socially distanced laneway get together with our neighbours. Everyone brings their own plates and cutlery and sits/stands in the lane behind our homes.
