  1. Just a quick follow up. Great hobbies is having a Labour Day sale with $10 off a $150 purchase or $20 off a $250 one. So might make it a bit cheaper for anyone still looking.
  2. Great job there Martin. Man, I remember when I threw a 22mm rear bar on my 2002 EP3 Civic. It went from plowing understeer to nice and neutral. A friend following me in his car noticed I was going around corners now on three wheels though.
  3. Fantastic work on the interior. How do you mask the leather pads around the cockpit openings?
  4. And that's not even all the white metal bits. Then there's the PE sheets, the resin body panels, vac windows, magnets, springs...
  5. Thanks Phil. I've heard those horror stories. Of course the solder iron I have is the nuclear kind. So that would have to added to the list too.
  6. I'm thinking of it. Hadn't thought of soldering but maybe if I can find some I'll give it a try. I was planning to use either epoxy or CA.
  7. I was having all sorts of moisture issues with my compressor as well. I added a second water trap at the connection between the airbrush and hose and that eliminated the problem for me. Haven't had any issues since and it's been 6-7 years since I did it.
  8. The table in the back looks great with your additions. There so much warmth to your interior, it feels like I'm looking at a library or wood paneled smoking room instead of a plane.
  9. BMW V12 power. '96 McLaren F1 GTR.
  10. This is probably going to be a very long term project.
  11. Small update. I started on the cab and it's been a bit tricky. Some of the parts seem to be in scale thickness which doesn't leave a lot of joint/glue area. Also, everything is pretty much flat panels so you need to take care making sure it's all aligned correctly.
  12. No crazy unobtanium pins here, just some paint and pencils. The Tru-Color paint line seems to be expanding in its availability which is great. Really nice paint to use if you like lacquer based paints. Tough as nails once it's dry. For the gearheads amongst us, they do a great selection of car colours as well. Carl
  13. The model? Or the track pins made by Polish virgins on a wet grass field?
  14. Actually they're the same price they were before the closure of WNW was announced. I think the Felixstowe works out to be less than the price on the WNW website after conversion. Then factor in free shipping and it's not so bad.
  15. Here's another one Bill Watterson did. To me, they confirm that he must have been a model builder.
  16. I was at Great Hobbies in Mississauga, ON yesterday and they had some on the shelf too. So they're still out there. Carl
  17. My sister swore I'd hacked her Facebook account as all she got was hobby shop and mountain bike ads in her feed. Carl
  18. Some of Dragon's earliest armour kits were re-boxes of Gunze's Hi Tech mixed media kits. They tooled up plastic parts to replace the white metal and PE parts in the original kits, sort of like what they did with the Tri Master plane kits.
  19. Bronco armour kits are definitely on the fiddly side. I've started two and yet to finish either one. Or is it three? Maybe try one of the other brands Dennis? My Takom Jagdtiger went together like a dream. It's part of their Blitz line which is supposed to be easier to assemble. Or a more recent Tamiya kit...
  20. It would seem to make sense and make things faster to set up but I'd be concerned about the jack pistons getting gunked up with dirt/sand being under the bed all the time.
  21. More! I want more!!!
  22. That's a bit disappointing about the HGW set. Especially when we're used to their stuff being top quality. Here's the pics of the bottle opener. Here's the two part tool. Mine are covered in overspray so aren't as clean as they could be. With a bottle of paint in the holder. Gunze includes two different styles of serrations to grab the lids. There's even the rectangular slit for the older Gunze bottles with the big tab on top. I have a bunch of those so I found that particularly handy. I've yet to have a bottle that I couldn't open with this tool. Provided it's compatible of course. One other thing I do is save the empty bottles. Once I have a few, I'll take the kids off and soak them in a container with some water and laundry detergent. After a couple days, the paint has usually dissolved and after a quick scrub with a toothbrush I have clean jars for mixing custom colours in. This works on both Mr Color and Tamiya paints.
  23. "Hey, check out my new mobile litter box! It's even got AC"
  24. Rob, the Gunze opener set includes a silicone rubber cup that holds the glass jar so that it doesn't slip. You put the jar in that and it not only holds the jar from slipping but increases the diameter so it's easier to hold. I'll try to grab of pic of mine when I'm home later from work.
