Revell 1/32 Spitfire Mk IIa
KevinM replied to Peterpools's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
It does not look bad or that you had problems from my perspective Peter.I had started spaying the interior of Revell's MkIX the other night and lo an behold I found another MkIX in the cabinet last night.....another Quinta kit -
Thanks Peter it's been a Good Teacher.

I picked up this kit last summer over in John's neck of the woods in LA at a modelling contest(P/U to many) in I think Covington,LA.This build will absolutely be OOB I want speed and completion.I will let the pictures speak for themselves their are 1/32 not this big!

I say maybe 2/4hrs left on this one.I have added angle braces to the starboard side to three stanchions, added chain to the stern and added chain to port.I still have three angle braces for port, flat coat, glass for Kalotte, anchor and rigging. The final stage will be the hull weathering and another flat it will be light.

Thanks John it's been a love/hate thing at times the worst part ditching the 37mm for the twins in the middle the twin was a beotch. I will be glad when completed Mike in how you probably felt with the Wildcat.I find two or three months on a build and I shelf it till I ready to come back luckily this one has kept my interest with different scratch/add-ons.
-
Thanks Rookie their have been days I want to move on. Appreciate that Gary still have to play with hull some see if I can screw the pooch? I am definitely starting to see and feel it's coming Peter it's becoming a struggle to go at this point "Do I really need that PE" I really do like the effects of the chain and it's scale works out to one link is 1" long.

Came out Splendid Mike! -
Thanks for the input Peter I did try on a section of painting the wire best to leave it be.
-
I have already fixed that set of stanchions Guys but something about the silver to bright give me some thoughts.

I am not through with the weathering still got the sides of the hull to go.I do not have much more to add to the fore deck mainly just the anchor which I plan to repaint probably black/gray.I went what I thought was light on the rust using a rubber paint brush Nice and Pointy.I just had to start on the railings lesson learned glue in play bottom rung first and attach carefully the bottom wire gets the alignment done straight every thing else falls into place.
