  1. I'm similar Carl in that both my kids seem to have inherited their mother's good eyesight rather than mine which is definitely hereditary, my father and brother are also astigmatic and short-sighted. I started with glasses when I was 7 and they are both in their late teens now so I think they've safely dodged that bullet.
  2. Trying to resist as well. Keep focusing on my previous 23MF build where the undercarriage is now slowly collapsing under the weight of the kit. I think it's down to the funky design but it may just be my building skills!
  3. Got something better in mind John?
  4. Good plan that Carl. I recently finished the MkXVIe kit and had to chop away half the engine to get the cowls to fit. Wish I'd seen your plan first!
  5. Too many people using those bidding bots is a major part of this. Nice catch on the Intruder Danny.
  6. Having spent a lifetime in glasses due to severe myopia and an astigmatism I now find I can do small stuff like fabric seatbelts quite nicely without my glasses - the long-sightedness of aging is just 'correcting' my close vision. Hence I barely use my Optivisor now. I'm sure this won't last long before its all a blur again.
  7. Best of my feeble attempts. F-15C of the IDF which was done as a dual build with A Syrian Mig-23MF which it shot down over the Beqaa Valley during Operation Mole Cricket 19 in 1982. As you'll see I'm even less of a photographer!
  8. Looking great. Really like the 'chipped Zimmerit' effect.
  9. Nice job on the plane and the pilot. Very nice.
  10. Could see a bit of scratch work with the front end of something like an AIM-7 being necessary to sort this. Does seem a strange oversight when it's so prominent.
  11. Lovely build Ivan. I'm with you on a LSP sized Viggen, would love to do one in the splinter camo.
  12. Stunning build Wouter and the quality of the exterior photos does it true justice.
  13. Always a shame to get the old felines 'modified' but it saves a lot of grief in the long run. Our old cat had to be put down a wee while back at 19 years old and we miss her terribly but with 2 Jack Russells it's not fair to get another cat at the moment. Great work on the drive line. It is getting a bit crowded in there though!
  14. Insane! Nuts! Unbelievable! I'm not sure what other adjectives to use but this is just wonderful to observe. If it comes out anywhere close to your Spit it will be off the scale.
  15. Hope you enjoyed the haggis Carl. I love it but it's often best to let guests try it before you tell them what's in it! Anstruther and the East Neuk of Fife is a lovely part of the world. My wife is from just a bit further down the coast so I know that area very well. Some great golf courses as well if you're that way included. Personally I'd agree with the apocryphal Twain quote about it being a 'good walk ruined' but that's probably just because I'm crap at it. Glad you enjoyed the whisky. There are just so many to try although now many are branching out into craft gins as well. Chuck some botanicals in the spirit and you have something to sell in 3 months rather than the years the whisky takes!
  16. Wouldn't like to hit a Moose in any 'normal' sized car. Friend of mine hit a decent sized Red Deer stag and it wrecked his car. He was doing about 75 mph at the time though.
  17. Don't know what it is but the front end of these always makes me think of a catfish!
  18. Hope you have a great day Maru
  19. Done the Trumpy Mig-23MF and it's a decent build. Not perfect but with a bit of research you can work out the pitfalls and get on top of them. Over time I've found the landing gear sags a bit but I think that's more to do with the wacky design rather than the kit.
  20. That's a book title I didn't expect to ever see in print!
  21. Could be a short game of curling when that 'stone' meets another in the house Martin! Where the hell do you find this stuff? The problem with curling now is that it's lost it's original purpose which was to hang around outdoors at a Bonspiel for long enough to necessitate the drinking of large quantities of whisky to keep yourself warm. God knows how many Scotsmen fell through the ice of frozen lochs back in the old days when attempting to get home.
  22. Remember driving our campervan down near Greymouth in South Island, New Zealand and seeing a big sign at the side of the road which basically said 'if you see a Possum please run it over'. Just about drove off the road laughing!
  23. Great work with the resin casting Bill and that scratch seat looks great.
  24. Ah, you sampled the deep-fried Mars bar then?! You don't get to be the heart-attack capital of the world without effort! As someone who works in the health service and sees the end results it's unfortunately true that we can find ways to deep-fry just about anything.
  25. Nice Ivan, you can't beat a bit of Mr Claypool and co. Suitably weird for this current thread as well!
